Yesterday, one of my friend clashed his freshly strung (low-end) Nanoray and the racket developed crack at 2 o clock position. Almost all of us play with Yonex brand racket (easy availability). We play mostly for fun. I have read somewhere that Yonex brand rackets though have better product consistency but are poor in durability. Maybe high-end Yonex rackets like Duora 10 or Astrox 88s or Voltric ZF - II might be produced using better quality material and more durable, but these are out of our budget. Is it true? None of us can spend too much money on buying rackets (may be one racket per year or so, costing around INR 3000 or equivalent to US$ 50 - 60 max. Any insight on which brand rackets are most durable. Yonex, Li-ning are easily available locally. Victor can ordered online. Other brands availability is hit or miss. Suggestions and experience pls.
From the way the rackets are molded by different companies, Yonex and Victor have the same way of molding, which are making the frame and shaft separately, and joining them together to compromise the use of T joint. This enables them to stuff foams in between the hollow frames, making them more shock absorbent, but softer in strength especially when they reduce the amount of carbon in the frame. Hence, a lot of rackets like the Arcsaber/Jetspeeds series to have a pretty weak frame. On the other hand, LN produces their racket in one single mold, that means their frame and shaft are being produced in one single process. This makes their racket to have a hollow profile throughout the racket, but much stronger in terms of strength than YY & V. That’s why we don’t ever see sunken frame problems. This is new information for me. So it may be correct to assume that atleast low end arc sabers are more prone to failure on impact. Additionally, if there is less carbon fibre does it means chances of failure is high? Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Tapatalk
Ha ha ha! Was not referring to steel or aluminium rackets. BTW I have personally broken an Artengo 730 racket, the wooden handle debonded from the shaft after I hard hit it on the concrete floor. Noobs can achieve anything. On another note, is it true that rackets capable of holding higher tensions are likely to outlast the others? Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Tapatalk
Protech is not available in India. Secondly what I want to know is which brand rackets are more durable in low cost range. If any existing threads on this topic is there, kindly guide me. I am unable to locate any proper information. Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Tapatalk
Try Li-Ning Ultra Strong... I just bought it because shopper recommended it is more durable. I bought at RM160 only. Sent from my BL7000 using Tapatalk
APACS racquets are very durable. I sell alot of APACS to my customers and they are happy with price they paid for. Their prices are mostly half or one third of yonex. Durable and good quality.
I currently use Duora 77, 3U racket with slight head heavy to even balance. I am pretty comfortable with this racket. I am not big fan of high tension but am ok to try upto 26 - 28 lbs, if feasible. I am open to try something in 4U as well but not very head heavy rackets. Shaft stiffness preferably be medium flex. Any suggestions. Also if there is racket matrix or selection guide for Apacs rackets. Do you sell in India (online). Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Tapatalk
Sorry I don't ship to India. Apacs should have their own dealer over india but I'm not sure where. You can head over to their website (by google) They have a wide range from 3u to even 8u. Mostly mid flex racquets they have. Would recommend the lethal series 8,9 or 10. Amazing racquets.
generally all lesser known brands will be way more durable than Yonex/Victor, this stands for apacs, pro-tech, fleet, maxbolt generally mid segment by price will be better in terms of specs/technologies from all brands especially pro-tech, apacs pro-tech online shop is very great, with lots of amazing rackets and if you would be able to get a hold of unlimited series - it is something special, the best control/speed/attack combination, I have ever tried. a bit expensive though on their online shop bet very worth it.
Which model of protech racket is combination control/speed/attack together? Mind to share? Look interested… Sent from my BL7000 using Tapatalk
I do agree on that, my very first racket is a protech and they seem to last forever! even after a few clashes, and scooping off roads.(we play badminton on the street) 5 Arc11 has gone, and yet my protect still stand strong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
