Yeah, but up until now, I though it was Bae Youn Joo... and now, to confuse things even further, BWF have her listed as Bae Yeon Ju! :D

Never mind, just pick the one with the initial BYJ. You won't be wrong.

WYH had the edge to win the gold. Of course she had to pray not to play her teammates in final cause they are her biggest rival not to win the gold.

Yeah... neither of the two romanization standards for Korean have "Youn".

But coming to cuteness from Korea, it would be Sung Ji Hyun and in Badminton on the whole it would be Reiko Shiota.

"There are no Sharapovas' in Badminton"

Indeed..... 'coz there are Reiko Shiotas' in Badminton... :p

WYH has to play BYJ who has one of the best records against her among the foreign players , interestingly the last time BYJ and WYH played:

If there are 3 China players in SF:
I believed that in the SF, if there is a China vs China affair, it should be played first. This will prevent "possible" match fixing after knowing the other SF result.
On the other hand, if the China vs Non-China is played first in SF, and won by China, then we will see a titanic battle for the 2nd SF (China vs China) match.
    This is a dilemma situation.
I hope China vs China to play the first SF. :)

Let's assume, SF lineup is WX-LXR and WYH/TB. If WX-LXR plays first, there is high possibility that WX will 'win' over LXR based on her H2H against TB and LYB plays safe having WX to face the possibility TB wins her match. I would rather go with the second option you said i.e. WYH-TB goes first and show us a good game. If WYH wins, WX-LXR would be a great game, free for all. CHN winning OLY gold is what most predicted. I am not sure this time, SN and Sung look good, and with TB not meeting WX, there may be surprise and upset to come. CHN 3 WS are very good but beatable and not as confident as like ZN or XXF who are expected to win.

LXR is the one most likely get sacrificed by game fixation in semifinal due to her lack of experience rather than lack of ability. Personally, I prefer WYH VS nonchinese player game is played first in SF because I don't like LXR has to lose to WX in the semifinal just because Tine Baun also reach semifinal.

Of course not. The umpire obviously pressed 'smash' on his/her PDA after every point.

Now the Chinese badminton players will be so pressured to deliver in OG.

Chinese have done well in Swimming and most like to rob USA and other dominant countries a few more gold from other events.

I'm sorry. I hate to say that but I don't like LXR to be in Olympics.. At this situation.. WYH should deserve the gold..That's all. LXR is the best in the world right now. Nobody can beat her. She's briliant. But based on points she wasn't qualified for Olympics.
