I've got to know that ZM and LCW have visited Korea recently to be taught by Li Mao in their preparations of the WC.
ZM also? I thought only LCW? Never heard from anywhere that ZM was taught by LM for the past few weeks.
....really,....go tell Uncle Loh....we actually have one girl and one boy went for their 'tuition' in Korea ...........Wonder why WMC didnt follow....
I just watched a news on CCTV5. The reporter mentioned about the training in Qingdao. She said according to Zhang Ning, the person who performed the best in Qingdao is not Wang Lin or Wang Yihan, but is Lu Lan! So, can Lu Lan win the WC?
This has not been reported in BC and I have not read any external reports either. So I don't know where narnia got the news? Aiyah, I think you meant one women (ZM?) and one man (LCW) not one girl and one boy. Don't confuse lah! Anyway it has not been confirmed whether ZM was actually there and for what purpose and ZM's case, if she's there, is vastly different from LCW's in circumstance and objective. Luckily WMC did not follow lest she became a distraction and then Misbun might as well take a good rest.
No offence to LM but he already had LHI to 'experiment' with at the Beijing Olympics but he failed. Now he has another KOR No.1 PSH to send to Hyderabad WC for the second most important tournament in the world and do you think he can succeed again? Chances are PSH will fail also as many BC voters here seem to think so. How not to be discouraged when your own coach is coaching another player from MAS on your home ground for the same competition? Perhaps to beat LD, you could only do so by going to LM's arch-rival LYB for tips! LCW has gone to the wrong man and this makes his WC attempt all the more difficult because of the persistent 'hate relationship' between LM and LYB. LYB will summon all his resources from his panel of coaches to ensure LD will prevail over LCW/LM.
yes, and the korean shuttlers also are lucky enough to have both wr1 in the ms and ws category to spar with them. Sung-hwan said that he had also benefited from a short training stint with world number one Lee Chong Wei in Seoul last month. He also said “It was good to spar with Chong Wei. I know where I stand against him now. Our youngsters also benefited from the stint. Hopefully, the next time, he will come to train with us longer,” he said. Korean team are very lucky. http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2009/8/10/sports/4488109&sec=sports
I'm sorry for PSH for thinking that he is benefitting and his morale seemed to be at a very low point now to practically say he has no chance in the WC at all. LM must have failed in his mission. I'm sorry for PSH too for thinking that LCW's main motive was to spar with him and his teammates. LCW specially went to KOR to pick the brains of PSH's coach not to waste time with the KOR players. I think PSH has beaten LCW before, and if so, PSH is not doing justice to himself. BTW, there is no mention of ZM in that article and why are you so sure that she was there for the same purpose?
Bao ousted from World badminton championships (AFP) – 1 hour ago HYDERABAD, India — Dicky Palyama of the Netherlands pulled off an upset at the World badminton championships Monday, beating 11th-seeded Chinese Bao Chun Lai in the men's singles opening round. "There was no pressure on me and I played freely," Palyama said after posting a 21-18, 21-14 victory in 36 minutes. "I knew Bao is a tough opponent, but my coach told me to keep cool. I knew I had a chance to win the match when I was leading in the second game." Bao conceded he was not at his best. "I didn't play my best game," said the Chinese. "I don't think I was on top of my game today. I could not find my rhythm." Third-seeded Peter Gade of Denmark stormed into the second round with an emphatic 21-11, 21-16 victory over Valeriy Atrashchenkov of Ukraine. "I was always in control of the match," said the 32-year-old Gade, looking for his first World title. "Obviously, I am looking for the gold. I know the toughest opponent will be Chinese Lin Dan. It is good that at this age I am able to compete well." Defending champion Lin proved too strong for unseeded Israeli Misha Zilberman, racing to a 21-9, 21-11 win in 23 minutes. "I don't consider myself as a favourite. I think Gade and (Malaysian) Lee Chong Wei are favourites," said Lin, aiming for his third successive title. "Shuttles are coming a bit slow but one has to adapt to the conditions." Lin and Gade are expected to clash in the quarter-finals. Wong Mew Choo of Malaysia needed just 19 minutes to down American Shannon Pohl 21-4, 21-6 in the women's singles opening round. Belgium's Lianne Tan, Susan Egelstaff of Scotland and Japanese Ai Goto also moved into the women's singles second round with straight-game wins
"I didn't play my best game," said the Chinese. "I don't think I was on top of my game today. I could not find my rhythm." ==================================================================================================================================== I think to win a game need to have a good form. Good form is the result of well coodination of SKILL SPEED STAMINA and STRATEGY. Thats why frequently we can see UPSETS of a lesser player over a supposedly stronger opposition.
Thanks madbad, at least WMC was in the news. But BCL does have a strong following of female admirers, especially in INA and even LD can't even come close! I wonder why?
