Why isn't badminton in the tv (in Europe, at least)?

    Money makes the world go round ...

    It's all about money! The TV stations have to pay a lot money for the broadcasting rights. And they have to make sure that the investemt pays back, i.e. that companies are interested in booking commercials around thes sport. And with football, tennis, cycling, snooker, motorsports etc. the companies and the TV broadcaster are sure that it is worth.

    Therefore it is not really about whether a sport is interesting or not. In Germany e.g. the Saarbrücken Open have been broadcasted 2 or 3 years ago on Eurosport. But only because a big German brewery (Bitburger) supported this tournament and paid a lot of money (by buying commercial time) to Eurosport).

    That's how it work!
