no. a 16 seed can still upset a 1 seed, and others.

but in other cases it's a bullshit rule. as if bwf is forcing you to stay w/ your partner.

Really looking forward to this tournament - it'll be the first ever that I go see in person, think this will be the last realistic time I can watch LD and LCW, but I need them both to get to the QF - the first day I'm watching!

Unlucky for INA MD pairs to be drawn at spot 1, 2 and 3 altogether. Angga/Rian or Fajar/Muhammad could easily beat anyone else (other than the top seeds) in the 1st round and probably even advance to the QF if they can maintain their momentum. As for XD, I am surprised to see Tontowi/Lilyana as #1 seed. They will potentially have a tough HK pair (Tang/Tse) waiting for them in SF and ZSW/HYQ in the F. It's also unfortunate that all Chinese XD top seeds are in the same lower bracket. For WD, it's obvious that JP WD dominates the top seed and I'd expect one of them to win, unless of course if the CHN top seed or the INA in form WD can have a flawless tournament, then maybe they have a chance to win this.

    My predictions:
MS: Viktor vs Srikanth (or LCW) in F, or if Viktor ends up withdrawing from AE, then it will be Chen Long in the F. Either Viktor / Srikanth will win this I think.
WS: Toughest to call, but I think TTY have a slight edge over everybody else, but whoever the winner will be the top seeds, i.e. either TTY, RI, NO, CM or PVS.
MD: I'd expect the minions to still reach Final, or at least SF, but the winner will either be them or the Danish pair (Boe/Mogensen). The CHN pair (both ZN/LC or LJH/LYC) may pose a surprise though...
WD: I'd put the Japanese MM/AT pair as my favorites to win the AE. It will be an interesting final to see them vs the #1 seed CQC/JYF.
XD: Tontowi/Lilyana have a slight edge with their experience in big tournaments, but it will depend on Natsir's fitness level. Otherwise, I think ZSW/HYQ or the HK pair TCM/TYS will win this.

    Just my 2 cents :)

LOL. Fined for no participation whenever a top committed pair were splitted into scratch pair and the scratch pair weren't qualified to play at Super 1000 and/or Super 750 tournament.

It depends, if you want half day ticket, full weekend or fill tournament. I went for the cheapest weekend ticket which was £85 for Friday-Sunday, get to see all matches from QF onwards. Although I did get discount for being registered with Badminton England.

Pity for Viktor, when he was just starting to unleash his potential and become a title contender at All England,
injury happened. With BWF's new schedule,he already participate in few tough tournaments.

I thought he had an abdominal injury during the Asian Men's Group Championship? I hope he will be fine by then. Saw his instagram account, everything seem to be okay :)

His fate is already decided when he was allowed to participate in PBL. That happened to Suo Di as well. Unfortunate. Such a good player had to bear this kind of treatment.
