Why Canada Open is not in GTA? Sigh, many top canadian players reside at the east coast around GTA... The tournament should in some occasions located at around GTA....

The reason surely must be that the organizers in Vancouver have made a good case to have it there. Well organized experienced staff, good venue, healthy projected attendance, proximity to Asia .... In other words it is business, pure and simple.

Look at the bright side: At least Toronto has the Maple Leafs! ;-)

Bao/Zhong and Chai Biao made into the draw of the World Championship from the reserve list. So their withdrawals are not unexpected.

It remains to be seen if they will play the US Open.
