Yonex DENMARK Open SS Premier 2014 - Entry List & DRAW

Lee CW withdrew from Denmark?

I heard Lee CW withdrew from Denmark, please confirm?

what about French open?

You're overlooking the mighty Yip Pui Yin, Sindhu's first round opponent. You can never underestimate any of Sindhu's opponents, anybody could spring up a surprise. Even if Sindhu does manage to get through to the QF, her opponent probably won't be Sung Ji, instead more likely opponent would be Akane (Qualification Q3). And Saina vs WYH? - overambitious frankly. Han Li and Wang Shixian en-route.
Frankly speaking you are just over rating akane
Only time will tell but I have a firm opinion that it will be SJH

As in recent there will be live streaming of court 2 from the beginning of the event. TV coverage of court 1 from thursday as well.

Kamilla and Christina are so lucky that Nitya and Greysia withdrawn, if not they will be first big casualty in front of their loyal spectators

Too bad though Nitya and Greys withdrew

Hopefully they will be back in Paris after last year famous victory over mighty Wang and Yu

A bit strange to me that Carolina Marin chose to skip the DEN PSS and pay the USD5K penalty to boot but will be competing at the French Open SS the following week. The only advantage is she starts fresh at the latter event unlike her main rivals, particularly the ones who would have gone the full distance. Why not play the DEN PSS and skip the French SS instead? If it's injury concerns, then I'd supposed neither tournaments are an option, both should be avoided.

She won't be playing in Denmark as well as France according to her facebook post.

Hi guys:
I have to say that I will not be able to play the following tournaments (Denmark and France Open) because I injured my left ankle at World Championship and is still injure. The doctors have said I need rest and I am in rehab to get back on court soon. Thank you very much to everyone for the spirits!

As per today's M&Q List of the Bitburger Open, she hasn't withdrawn her name. It seems that the Bitburger GPG will be her first tournament post the World Championships.

Thanks for the info, MR.EPIC.

Among the remaining MS qualifiers, Gao Huan also withdrew and Xue Song is promoted to Main Draw, probably taking the place of K Tago, good for the young man.

A pity Tago withdrawn, he has a realistic chance to progress to the Semi-Finals or even Final in the absence of Lee CW in the upper half of the draw.

Quite frankly it's good Gao Huan withdrew, he is a embarrassment, can't think of many worse Chinese players than him.

Still I'm somewhat puzzled that Marin who supposedly injured her left ankle during her match with Mitani Minatsu in R3 of the WC, still went on to beat her opponent and followed it up by overcoming Tai TY in the QF, then disposing of Sindhu in the SF before finally outlasting the self-destructive LXR for the world crown.

Frankly I was expectantly looking forward to see her prove her mettle in the two top class events. Guess I'd have to wait until the CHN Open PSS and the HK Open SS next month then, assuming she's giving the Bitburger GPG a miss too.

Sort of disappointed with Gao Huan too, so far his performance leaves much to be desired, esp the way he acquitted himself as an underdog against Lee HI in the AG Team Final was a letdown.

Hope to see Xue Song makes his mark here. As for Chen Yuekun, I withhold my judgement though I won't expect any positive surprises from him.

Too bad, Lin Dan and Chen Long are in the same half of the draw. Actually I was thinking since there are so many withdrawals , the organizer might want to consider a redraw with justification, provided the tournament rules allow for it.
