There we've a decider, CM taking G2, 21-14. Sung seems to have lost a bit of her script in G2, more reactive than proactive.
Again, the referee penalised Marin for misconduct, not handing the shuttle to her opponent but walking away, this time it's a red card and the point is awarded to Sung, 7-3.
The tournament referee is called but Marin is reluctant to carry on, another pt awarded to Sung, 8-3.
At last, Marin is persuaded to continue and the game goes on... A black card would have disqualified Marin.
Match goes to Sung Ji Hyun as expected,21-6, as Marin finally gives up the fight, offering no more resistance.
Well, this is one of the rare occasions that I agree with GC when she said "This is good umpiring". I mean someone gotta tell CM that the way she delayed handing over the shuttle is not ok. Yesterday, even GC noted that Takahashi was "physically fed up" with CM' screaming and not handing back the shuttle. I'm not sure if it's a habit or tactic but she sure will not repeat this again.
Seriously, Marin had better learn how to restrain herself, she's really overly temperamental. Self-control and good court manners constitute self-discipline in her case, it will do her game a lot of good.
Admittedly, Marin had it coming, can't blame the referee who did his job correctly, even GC is in agreement with the referee's decisions. Luckily, it's just a GPG event, hope the lesson goes down well with Marin who still has a long way ahead of her.
ah, reminds me of that era when "tactics" include things like this. many sports has gone "soft" since then
The second red card came immediately after the first, for Marin failed to quickly check herself but continued in the same manner. It showed how set a bad habit it has become for her, any normal person would have instantly woken up or at least be jolted into compliance to act sensibly henceforth.
Results update. Mads Pieler Kolding/ Kamilla won against Joachim Fischer Nielson / Christina Pedersen 21-18, 121-17. Actually I was expecting Joachim / Christina to win. Its okay good game here. Then what happened to the match between Carolina Marin and Sung Ji Hyun. She is given a yellow card, 2 red cards? OMG! Can someone explain why she got so many cards? She is even persuaded to continue playing. She wanted to quit playing already. I think that it is rather unfair to award her opponent one point when she is given a red card. Wow this badminton match has turned into a foot ball match. Serious lol! I think Carolina Marin is better. She has better stamina. Sung Ji Hyun looks tired halfway through the game. Finally Sung Ji Hyun won the game 21-15 14-21 21-6. Although Sung Ji Hyun won the game, I didn't like the way she won the game. Anyway I don't see anything wrong if Carolina shouts after she wins a point. I am watching the live score from BWF website. Quite controversial game. Wow can anyone explain to me what had actually happened during the game? Thanks.
