I thought Fleet is Made in Malaysia... in Muar, Johor.... They just registered overseas if not mistaken... such as Apacs etc...
Thanx for the pdf. Looks like Yonex has a new magic dust to sprinkle onto its rackets: tungsten. Does someone know what the series of high speed photographs are supposed to demonstrate?
Probably that the frame bends more, when the shuttle hits the strings and that so the contact time which the shuttle has on the strings is longer, thus more power. Greetz Ava
At the bottom of the pdf file. It says that the racquet incorporates a 'Sound Filter' to make each shot sound more intimidating... o.o
Sounds more like their marketing Dept is in charge of R&D. Yonex comes up with the darndest gimmicky "improvements" in order to sell their products.
They should put a blow off valve so that everytime you swing, abit of pressure builds up and then finally when it reached a certain pressure, everything is released in a big boom !
Actually I think Kawasaki might be OEM from Fleet as I got their 9000 Spider II which is very similar in design to the Fleet Woven series. It also features a woven frame and Low Aerodynamic drag design.
I heard from the Chinese forums that the tungsten composite in the frame "filters" out the bass component of the impact sounds and thus make all shots sound more high pitch, as if strung at a higher tension IMHO I kind of like the premier price which can be considered as Yonex mid range.
Interestingly this racquet is targeted at students, mid levels players etc if I read/guess correctly (see bottom of page 3)
Fleet Woven 888, 999, 1000 and 2000 are all Taiwan made. Well, I only own Fleet Woven 2000 but did inspect the other rackets and they are all made in Taiwan. Malaysian or Taiwan owned? I don't know. One suggestion, don't get the Woven 1000 because a few people had the same complaints...sorry can't say much about it but can say that Woven 2000 has taken care of the issues with Woven 1000.
Bro, are you sure its an intermediate level racket for tis Voltric 70?? Should it be at par with AT600 coz it seems like quite the same as the AT600 (4U spec).. emm..
