Just saw OOP for tomorrow, and Pia is still up in XD with Kido.

With her ankle injury I really doubt she can play :(

Good result from Zwiebler but also sad for Chen Jin.
I thought the walkover last tournament was a "tactical" one - but it seems to be a real injury.
So all the best to Chen Jin.

When there are so many W/O involved with so many miscelleanous reason, it's hard to know if it's real excuses or not......

It's sad but that's true reality.

I think if not for the fines,Chen Jin,Zhao YL and maybe Wang YH may skip this tournament. So far the cumulative fines is quite a lot already, with Wang Xin out for so many months, then Guo Zendong and Zhong Qianxin.

It's state funding we're talking about, even private sponsors want to know how the money is spent. With so many sports to support in CHN, not just CBA,and using public money, they have strict guidelines, policies, rules and regulations to abide by. Besides, the approved budget is for essential things, maybe some special proposals and plans and partly based on results. That's my understanding, better let those in the know tell you more.

Btw, Lin Dan's fines, projected to be about USD25K based on one article I read, has to be borne by himself because it's not due to injury or unrelated to work but his personal leave of absence.

Another early round exit for Du Pengyu. HuYun is a late bloomer, having his second wind, and on his day can trouble most of the players.Impressive, just like Sho Sasaki.

Chen Jin used the wrong brand of hair gel? But on a serious note... sad to see him fall this way, along with compatriot Du Pengyu.

    just about right.
2 mins break between games. probably 6 mins for the first and 7 mins for the second.

averaged 10s per point. serve > return > smash! job done
