Hi Paul, appreciate your view on both rackets. Some says the TK9K have a numb feeling compared to BS or MX line. Did you experience the same when playing ? Cheers.
To answer some of the comments and questions above... Sadly we will not have 4U ZFII in UK so I cannot compare as you would like. In UK we do not have the same choices you have in respect of weight and grip size. We only have one version. I believe Victor makes world class rackets that are as good as Yonex, occasionally better. I have asked a number of players to test ZFII and TK9000. 80% chose TK9000 as a better racket. None of the players had many positive views on ZFII. Many are Yonex users. I was surprised at All Englands to find the players using standard models rather than custom rackets. We only saw one KRP racket all week. Perhaps the likes of LCW has custom rackets but we did not see those rackets as Victor stringers are not allowed in the arena - which we were extremely happy about. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
Yep - I'd rather string with the telly on and have a laugh (and mess up in private - not that I did) than be under exam conditions on the concourse Besides, most of the banter the three of us were coming out with was not fit for public consumption!
He's posted on this thread. He spent more time in our room than his - mostly to nick sugar, it turned out (and get pictures with the Korean girls when I wasn't there).
Yes that's true. Ben was in the next apartment with MD of Victor Europe. They had lots of meetings with retailers and players. Mark I correct that Ben also spent a lot of time I our room - the banter was so good! Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
How does the stiffness of the tk9000 compares to that of the MX JJS? This racket sounds very exciting since I like the tk6000 a lot but I prefer the stiffness of mx jjs. I want to make sure that the tk9000 doesn't have that unforgiveness of the mx70/80 if I'm to commit to it. The flex of the mx jjs is just perfect for me - anything stiffer wouldn't be ok for me... I think. Thanks.
[q]because this is the hardest hitting Victor since the SW35[/q] *opens wallet and commits to TK9000*
I like tk6000 but i'd like it to be stiffer - there are two stiffer tk's: 7000s and 9000. I'm concerned that 9000 might be too stiff for my preference. According to the "response indicator" on victor uk website looks like stiffness is almost to the very end of the scale. Maybe 7000s is what i'm looking for - somewhere between 6000 and 9000. Has anyone tried it?
Meteor I have just appointed a new Ambassador for London area. I can arrange for him to borrow T9000 so you can test at one of his sessions if it would help you. He's based at Wimbledon but also sets up sessions elsewhere. PM me if you would like more details. He hasn't started yet so you'd need to give me time to arrange his demo rackets. Mark is there a way to add an extra cross on top or is there no shared hole? Because I've grown spoiled by the MX range and I wouldnt want to go back to those exposed mains up top
You can add an extra cross - through the hole where the knot would go - but you can't then tie off at the top; you'd have to tie it off "kwun style" at one of the shared holes lower down. Of course, your warranty would go out the window.
^^ Loss of waranty doesn't seem as bad to me as having to string it everytime I mishit a smash return
