We use different tensions and different rackets - so many reasons our perspectives need not match:).

(I knew you'd like the 650, by the way;))

At least you can test 650 string. Me and Mark do a lot of testing and will soon be on court again testing the latest arrivals from Victor. I can't wait.

The only fly in the ointment is that we have to give the stuff back at the end;).

Had my adipower pro strung with VS 850 couple of weeks ago at 25/27 lbs. Played half a dozen sessions with it. No noticeable tension drop so far, the string is performing very well.

Winston has it at MBS. And on the reel (one of which I bought).

Eric has a 200m reel too and the price is very nice... Very tempting, but since i don't string myself, a little bit inconvenient... Probably will go for a 10-pack from MBS instead.

Anyone compared the VS850 with the BG66 Ultimax directly? The BG66UM is my go to at the moment, but I'm considering picking up a JJS, and it comes with the VS850. Questioning whether to string it with that or use the usual BG66UM instead.

VS850 is slightly harder feel, better control but less repulsion than BG66UM. And both are just as bad at losing tension after a few weeks of play...

Neither... after using both for around half a year.

    I prefer ZM62. :)

Great, now I'm going to have to try it lol. If I usually use 24/26 with BG66UM, what would you recommend I use for the ZM62?

    Perhaps start with 23x25.

My stringer also said the same thing, the new ones (white+blue) feel quite different from the old packaging (white+gold). Different manufacturer maybe?

I'm testing BG-80P. I'm really satisfied by its crispness and feedback.
So, if someone avoids to play with VS-850 because of its durability, you may consider BG-80P.

VS850 is not that bad in durability, around a month per set?

Never had a durability problem with 850 before..and I play at 29lbs and generally smash a lot more than I should xD Still never been able to break them at my regular playing ground..I only started snapping strings when I went to places where shuttle travelled slower than usual. All in all I cut my 850 every 2-3 months depending on how much I use my rackets in rotation.

VS-850 snapped so loud, I thought I have clashed my racket against my partner's. Looking down, the birdie was lodged in the upper part of the string bed. Had the string for 1.5 mths, strung on TK-6k, tension 25/23 lbs. That's my shortest-lived string...
