Please tell me that i'm not the only one that gets days where everything goes wrong, and all your shots are just plain bad? Played today and nothing was going right. Smashes weren't fast and were going into the net, drops were mostly too long, and defence was sloppy. Then again i'm playing once a week for now, but i did have 2 weeks of straight training so i shouldn't be this bad at all.. infact last week i was pretty good.
happens to everyone. even the pros. (except that their "bad days" are still 10x better than our beset days) so nothing to worry about.
maybe you play too much. fatigue happens too. not sure how old you are, but old folks like us, it is very hard to play too many times. well we can, but we will be like what you said, have bad days if we play too much.
Everybody has off days. When stuff like that happens...I recognize it early and play a pretty simple game. Get the shuttle in and let the other guy make the mistakes.
I know that feeling. One day you are top notch and on top of the game, the other you are absolute rubbish. It's that lack of consistency that is very dangerous in tournaments.
I know that feeling very well. It usually happens if I have a lack of focus or sleep. I end up hitting the frame a lot and i mess up simple shots. I usually just take a break if I feel I'm having an off day, or just don't think anything.
I think it is more to do with the mental condition of the mind. When you are tired mentally, you are more likely to play garbage.
Gotta have the bad days to appreciate the good ones. Some days I would feel great but play like s*hit, other days when I wasn't 100% I would play like I could do no wrong. Just have to take the good along with the bad.
damn right.. that dominating feeling, high confidence, no misshit, no wrong choice of shoot and rocksolid defence.. to me, it happen ussually when meeting opponent who is slightly below my level
several factors can contribute to a bad day: - physical fatigue from days of playing or working out, not enough time for muscle to recover - lack of sleep can really reduce your concentration and reaction time - psychological factors such as stress, depression, or just a small conflict that occurred that day can throw you off on your game.
The last time when i had an absolutely terrible day is because I was really hungry. I had a very little lunch and no time for dinner before playing. But of course, eating too much won't help either.
i just started to play better again...my god the last 2 months was a disaster i lost nearly every single rally ...even those i knew i have 100% win i lost 22-24 crap ....but just try to motivate yourself ya ...cause bad days will really get to you losing to opponent you usually have the edge over ....just don't give up!
Happens to me frequently. Sometimes i can trash "this" guy. Sometimes he gets around 18 points. Thats when i get nagged by my coach because me and "this' guy's standard have a big gap.
Another perspective: Some reasons why you're garbage on the day.... The coffee wasn't fresh. A "wet dog" smell in the change room. Boss haranguing and bitching about your performance all throgh the day. The girlfriend said "No." Your mother wants you to spend the long weekend with her. Your favourite SHB85s just got shredded. The girlfriend said "Yes." The stringer said he did the new string job just as you wanted it, but you don't beleive him. People were looking at you strangely, in the subway. Your ankles feel sore. Your triceps don't have that definition you expect. The girlfriend said "maybe."
Lack of sleep doesn't seem to affect me much in the game(4hrs of slp), it is the attitude and expectation that is affecting my game play.
