Basically I have sweaty hands, and I sweat a lot. My grip gets dirty every week and i have to change it a whole lot. I heard there's surgery for this kind of stuff. Is there any alternative than surgery? Or having to wipe my hands on my shirt every second? Not only do i just change my grip, I also change my t-shirts in between games.
my hands like dat too, is urs excessive and sweaty even wen u dont play badminton? i think surgery is really the only option
i dun think badminton is causing his hands to sweat , if his prob is like mine it can sweat excessively any time during the day
Would this surgery be deemed as essential or cosmetic? I won't consider surgery for such matter. For baddy, I think that wrist band on the non-racquet hand for drying should suffice. Or do what Sigit B. does to his racquet... grip-wrap it all the way up the shaft and wipe your racquet hand on the shaft between points.
Cappy, this isn't the type of sweating where you sweat from above the hand and it flows down to the palm. This occurs directly from the palm, and I happen to have it too, seems hereditary since my dad and my grandfather had it as well. Not sure what to do, but for that same reason I stopped using towel grips even though they were the most comfortable also, a wrist band wouldn't work so well because they're slightly too small and they end up getting soaked anyway
Well, either that or wear a towel around your neck. Seriously, the wristband is to wipe down... not just to stop perspiration from dripping into the hand. That's why I suggested to wear it on the non-racquet hand so that one could wipe with it. There's really not much else one can do with chronic perspiration on the palms besides changing T-shirts and wristbands... stuff you wear that you can wipe with while in the game. Use multiple wristbands and put them in the washer along with the rest of the laundry after the sessions.
you could try the sort of chalk dust/blocks that gymnasts and weightlifters use. I did. A chalk block lasts ages. see this thread http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7976&highlight=chalk
then re-apply. Gym chalk is applied to the hands. Stuff like Ashaway grip powder tends to be applied to the grip (as you sometimes see Kim Dong-moon doing). I have since changed from Karakal super-pu type grips to towel grips, and don't need chalk any more.
I have wrist band on my racket hand. And sometimes, I "clean" my hand on the t-shirt. I need to change the wrist band and T-shirt about twice during a 4 hrs session, but it should be ok. Just carry 2 shirts and 2 wrist bands in the bag, and do laundry more often.
Don't "sweat it"; it's only a game I think the sweaty hands are mainly(point out if there are others) due to 2 factors: 1) Grip. Obvious that if you are stressing your hand by gripping too tightly your hand will sweat. 2) You are a chronically stressful person. This actually is a type of sickness; and is inherited. Your hand sweats excessively anytime, even outside of playing badminton. I do know of people in this situatio... Anyway, there's the "immediate cure" and the "long-term cure". The immediate cure is to use a spongy overgrip. You'll naturally feel that if you can grip it more loosely without it flying out of your hand, and gripping loosely is the key. The long-term cure is to see your physician. But this only applies if you have sweaty hands outside of badminton. Personally, giving up badminton is not a real option. Badminton is, afterall, a sport to enjoy and not stress over unless you are trying to be a pro. And so badminton is good for relief from stress...whether from work or school.
Hrm, You should try putting deodorant all over your body and arms!! lol i wouldnt recommend it though, because using deodorant is bad for you.. asborbing aluminum heavy metals.. eeeeeeeeeep !
I too, suffer from this sweaty palms. My palms sometime sweat for no apparent reason at all. All I do is wipe it though, not much I can do, unless surgery, but I, like most aren't willing to go that route.
yes as i mentioned b4 i have dis prob, its a sweating disorder dat causes excessive sweating, on the palms, armpits and also feet aswell. so u guys can get a image of wut it looks like, imagine ur hands rite afta u wash it in water.
