As you've quoted dink. String a thicker string tighter to make it feel the same. It works in reverse.
I've seen 67 snap at low tension due to friction between moving strings. If you gave me your racquet I'd give you 22lb zm70 to try. Good luck.
I tried 62 it was good but it was so easy to snap the string after hard smash. Next time I will go 65 or 67
Depends entirely on the tension and strength of the smasher - at 29lbs it starts to get very very brittle...
The newer 62 is a lot more durable than the first gen though. That one was pretty expensive to play with....I remember having to re-string 5 rackets one week
Ime, ZM62 is the fastest string to snap. It was only strung @24 lbs. Am using ZM65 @26/28 lbs currently n its durability is better but not by much...
My Zymax 70 string broke while stringing it on LN N90 (Tension 24). Saw this happen for the first time in so many years.
Check those grommets, it should really not snap at a low tension like that. A damaged grommet is likely to cause that.
Strung my TK-9ooo with ZM65 @27/29 lbs. It felt solid for the first two wks, playing twice weekly. Aftr which, the tension seems to go south by one or two lbs. Ime n everyone elses', newly strung tension will decrease by that much. Now, my question is will the tension fall even further after that?
Zm65 can get pretty spongy, it may fall further. Ime it felt great for about 1-2 weeks, then good for another 2-3 and pretty crappy afterwards. I think the tension loss will eventually double (not in the next week though).
Guess it's either tension loss or snapped string... either way my stringer is the one benefitting frm this... ( Y.Y)
Thats usually the way it goes also the reason why I went back to the Bg80, it feels good until it snaps, at least if you dont compare it to a brand new one too often
