Mizuno make one called ML-70 in RED red - I'm not sure if it can be bought yet, but Dink sent me a couple to try. Not expecting a world-beater from a 0.70, but it could well pull thinner at 32, so who knows. Yonex do a colour called "wine red", in which can be had 70Pro, but it's not a fully-saturated "255, 0, 0" red, more of a maroon. I agree wholeheartedly that there's a dearth of decent red "performance" strings: the only one I can think of is NBG98. I believe one of our esteemed members "suggested" to Ashaway that the possibly-forthcoming Zymax 65 should be done in red.
Loving the VS850 black at the mo so unless someone does a similar strings in dark red then i am gonna stick with these. Gonna keep my other rackets on BG66 just coz its easier to get hold of but the VS850 you strung it with are epic. I was a tad worried 28lb would be too high but just because of the shear power the racket gives anyway then 28lb it has amazing control.
this is just after a few sessions... can help when my partner keep coming for the same shot however, i find the paint job not as durable as my apacs vh1800
I have just thoroughly tested the latest Trinity (T2V5 I think). The ones I have are about 85g heavy and 293mm to 295mm in balance point. On a casual swing, the T2 has an interesting property of being pretty stiff (the typical current Yonex Extra Stiff standard, not unlike NS9900), light and yet head heavy (on my specimens at least) all at the same time. The shot impact feel is very solid even with its lightweight, something which reminds me a lot of the first gen Ti10. The lightweight and head heavy feel of the racquet make T2V5 feel very easy to handle especially for fast doubles games. A lot of the times I almost totally ignore the fact that I was carrying a racquet in my hand while focusing on the game. My specimens very much resemble the 4U spec'd Yonex Armortecs, while being a lot faster and easier to maneuver which is similar to the NS9900, NS9k, NS8k and Ti10. I would say that the Trinity is the ultimate doubles racquet. Personally I may prefer it to have a little more elasticity in the shaft like the MP100 (which is able to generate killer smashes) but for the high quality to price paid ratio, this is just good enough. Lastly for those who are interested I was using BG65 at 30 and 31lbs on the racquets.
Hopefully Sir Dinkalot will look to improve the durability of the paint job on the Genesis and Revelation rackets.
If clashed rackets (ivans and his partner keep going for the same shot), one cannot expect the paint to last. There will be paint chips. Regardless of the above situation , we are working to improve the durability of the paint.
Exaggerated NOT! Got my hands on one of these bird swatters a few days back Specification wise : Weight : 85.3g BP : 294mm String : Zymax62 at 27lbs BP after string + grip : 301mm Purchased from the Malaysian dealer Mr. Ansar It looks much better in flesh than in pictures. Pictures definitely do no justice for it. The finishing and paint quality is good comparable or might be better than YY. The grip size is a little bigger compared to YY G5. Some how in between G5 and G4. Dry swinging it, the shaft feels stiff enough for my needs and quite head heavy. At this moment I begin to worry that I might have ordered the wrong specification and might not have the strength to wield this racket as my "late" 2nd gen 3U Ti10 was modded to a BP of 286mm. Read all the reviews about this racket and upon closer inspection on the racket frame, I think the secret of this racket frame for its easy maneuverability, stability and power from a thin profile frame is a concoction of 3 type of frame profile into 1. I will roughly divide the 3 sections of the racket: 1. Top frame section (somewhere from 10.30 - 2.30 o'clock position) - frame profile that somehow resembles those from the ArcSaber series or NS9900. 2. Middle frame section (somewhere from 7.30 - 10.30 o'clock position both sides) - aero frame profile that resembles AT900T but with thinner profile. 3. Bottom frame section (somewhere from 5.30 - 7.30 o'clock position) - the box frame design that is for stability and (power?) Can't figure out the shaft tho' as dry swinging it feels quite stiff. Sir Dink is that true from what my eyes have shown me? Initial grip setup was the original grip plus a layer of Wilson Pro Overgrip. Warming up I don't dare to do hard high clears as I was worrying about the string might break at any time. As it progress I should not let the string durability hinders the first test for this racket and proceed as normal. Used the racket for 2 hours last night and all I can say is or I rather don't have words for it. It is only this --> Where have you been missing all this time? The feeling of using this is like meeting your true love! . I don't understand how the immense power, defense, maneuverability, precision and control were produced and coming from such a head heavy racket!! For the first few games, precision and control was way out of the chart for me. It was incredible! Getting on the night, it is only smashes to get points. The shaft doesn't seem to be as stiff compared to when dry swinging it. The sound of Zymax62 thundering down intimidated the opponents. I am VERY VERY impressed with this. Surprisingly the string lasted without any issues at all although they move around quite a lot Went home and took off the original grip and put 2 layers of Wilson Pro Overgrip stretched almost to the max and increased the BP to 304mm. Will play with this new grip setup (my usual grip setup) tonight and see what magic it will create. Woke up this morning still grinning from ear to ear when images of the game play last night flashed through my mind!! I will need to get another one which is heavier and slightly higher BP for even more power!! Sir Dink, Trinity 2 FTW!!
thanks boss the short review ...... anybody in Malaysia who would like to buy Trinity-2, you can PM me or e-mail to : ansarpro@gmail.com
Seems like increasing the BP by 10mm does affect the playability of the racket. I don't know whether it is me or the racket, seems like there is much more flex on the shaft at a higher BP till my timing was off. Will revert back to the original grip setup (original leather grip + a layer of stretched overgrip, BP 301mm) to see how it goes. If it is still the same, will mod till the BP is back to its original 294mm and report back in.
It's not you; a higher BP will cause the racket head to have more momentum. This will bend the shaft, post-impact, more than it would at a lower BP. 10 mm is quite a large jump in BP - it would turn a Nanospeed into an Arcsaber or and Arcsaber into an Armortec!
messing around with grips might change the balance point, but it wont change the playing characteristic of the racquet. it will still feel as head heavy/light as it was before.
LOL! I was thinking along those lines too. Now it got me to this part, currently with a 85.3/294mm(let's say that the dry spec no string+grip), would another dry spec Trinity2 at the same weight but with a higher BP say 297mm would have more flex in the shaft? My timing was was off cause when swinging to hit the birdie can feel the shaft already flexing way behind unlike the previous day.
Yes I understand that part. The feel of the racket did not change but rather when swinging for smashes the racket head seems to 'lag' behind as the shaft somehow felt to bend a lot more (again "lags") before hitting the birdie.
From 294 mm, a +3 shift wouldn't really register for me (but your mileage may vary); it normally takes me at least a quater of an inch (i.e. 5 or 6 mm) to notice. You are right, though - there's a definite "lag" at the start of the swing when the BP goes up. Being a defender, on 280-285 stuff, it's really noticeable when I try one of the stiffer Armotecs or something similar.
