Icuk is certainly NOT the team-manager of INA. He's just the chief of the Pengda (regional office) PBSI Jakarta.

PBSI is made of up many Pengda and clubs located in different cities or regions will have to abide by the rules set up the regional Pengda. In this case, Icuk simply wanted to milk money out of the professional players originally belonging to clubs in Jakarta (like Jaya Raya or Tangkas) and cited one of the house rules (AD/RT) as his reason for doing that (ie: rejecting Kido/Hendra from playing in China Masters).

One way to solve the issues will be for the players affected (Kido/Hendra, Vita) to move to other regions (such as Central or East-Java) where the chiefs will not be as money-minded as Icuk Sugiarto!

There are many people like Icuk and luckily PBSI will amend the rules that the players have to get permission from Pengda. Otherwise many good players might even switch countries.

Icuk is not INA team manager...at the end of 2008 when Icukwas trying to get himself elected as PBSI's chairman,
He publicly pledged that he did not like any support from Chinese indonesian at all...( I said it in a very polite way here)
Also when Icuk was headcoach of PBSI, he did fire most of certain players from certain clubs as well as chinese indonesian where Alroy Tanama moved to HKG at that time...
I have to say that Icuk is one of the racists...in my opinion, he should be kicked out from badminton society...there is no place for this type of people...

No, just the 2nd seed withdraw at such early stage...........and I dont think redraw will do any good for KKK/TBH either.........they just have to beat all good pairs to become champion.

I never over joyed by just looking at so call 'good draw'.........;)

Indonesian Shuttlers Markis, Hendra Pull Fast U-Turn
    Ami Afriatni | August 12, 2010

Jakarta. It seems Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan will play in the World Badminton Championship after all.

Just a day after threatening to withdraw from the tournament, due to begin in Paris on Aug. 23, Indonesia’s top men’s doubles pair on Thursday decided to back down from their boycott.

Markis and Hendra said they considered pulling out of the competition after discovering that the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) had failed to register them for the China Masters Super Series, which begins in Changzhou on Sept. 14.

I don't know anybody of them going day by day to an office or to a machine doing a job, so their profession is playing badminton as far as I know, 6 hours of training day by day, nothing else is possible - (if possible just prove me wrong) - it reminds me the discussion of Profs joining olympics in the 80th - sorry I'm that old LOL.
so what - just some go their own way and do not stick to national organizations - not taking tax money should be supported - why not?
Since they still represent the country in the best possible way (can't think of anything better than what Taufik's doing for INA team for example) - they deserve all formal support needed time by time by their countries! that's it - IMO.

Unfortunately, the French BA has not helped us at all

    .
It is unfortunate that many National Badminton Associations think that they can only make Badminton popular in their countries if their teams can perform well at international tournaments. But, it should not be the case.

Look at Soccer. Many nations love Soccer, whether they are in the Top 10 Soccer Ranking nations or not.
