Oh thank you guys. Would you guys recommend the tk8000 or hyper nano x800 or any victor rackets except the mx series since they are gone at my local shop. I do prefer to play singles and sometimes play doubles though.
With a focus on singles in mind, I'd say a tk8000/9000 or an hx800ltd p in 4u. Both should have the stiffness and headweight desired for singles while being quick and light enough for doubles.
I have just noticed that the new red/white colored TK7000S has been updated with the "Hard Cored Technology". See http://www.victorsport.com/product_detail_30735.html. Did anyone (besides TTY herself) have the chance to play with this updated version and can tell something about it? The old TK7000S was an interesting racket IMO with the only huge downside being the ugly design.

You're kind of a headless lamb to use a racket not based on your feel and needs and blindly using whatever tool the player you support uses. Fanboyism knows no bounds. Sorry but that's how it goes. So what if LYD's back to Yonex? It doesn't change the BS12's feel as a superb frame in the right hands and will not suddenly make you play like a person unfit for the game. Love the racket, not the player. The player only adds pedigree and reinforces certain aspects of the frame's qualities. In this case, being a great doubles frame (again, in the right hands). Pity those people who always asks "Errr what does player XXX use? This? OK buying it now!" without trying or swinging. Dime a dozen peeps everytime at sales events.
LYD's endorsement in large helped sell countless BS12 over the years, it's no wonder he's a valuable walking advertisement. Yonex all in on this. Big question is... which Yonex racquet now? Then the buying begins...
Have not seen the promotional shots yet, gotta check them out but ok...interesting... Re-hasing old models, repaint releases on the way probably, ala ZF2 LD editions. Don't trust him to keep to those 2 racquets though
I doubt that he will be part of the legends vision. Sounds pretty unusual to add a doubles player to a group of iconic singles player who was not sponsored by YY at his greatest moments. With much respect for LYD, I doubt that he will be good enough for it. Especially he was for more than a half decade married to Victor. Wouldn't fit the concept and story behind it and don't sound authentic. I think if Boe/Mogensen retire and maybe a different famous pair, they will start something like a doubles Legends vision, but adding just LYD to Gade, Taufik, Lin Dan and LCW sounds awkward. Regardless which Yonex racket LYD will prefer, he will always be an outstanding player. And even the rackets he don't pick up will be great rackets for somebody else in the world.
Im trying to be positive here... Im guessing u r having such a very bad bad day until u are labeling a person headless lamb just because he is showing his passion to one of the greatest badminton mens double player in the world ... how great are you compare to the others in these forums i wonder ... because the others don't do that !!! owh ya i did said 'part' ... bout not knowing the specs of the racket ... currently i have 4 BS 12 which i regularly used... i broke 2 in the past ... so why the hell I keep buying it ??? definitely not purely on LYD reason la kawan ... BUT because the fact that i love the feel and how the racket clicked with me despite the new version such as JS 10 JS 12 thank you the rest of the seniors and regular members who responded to my post earlier ... appreciate it
Well... LYD is a fantastic player and have won numerous accolades with various playing partners, seemingly almost anyone who partnered him the past decade ended up a champions pairing. I suppose that qualifies him as a legend. But yeah, him being a doubles specialist in the singles group is kinda out of place. Since he's retired, it doesn't matter much if he's using a D10 or Arc10. But if he's ever needed again in the professional circuit, he's gonna be using Yonex stenciled and repainted BS12 ....I mean... I wonder of his actual weapon of choice, considering his proven track record on switching to other models.
That's just presumptuous dude. If he ever plays professionally again representing his country, he would have to play under BKA and use the equipment of whoever their equipment sponsor is at said time. His own personal sponsorship with yonex does not exist per say. He's with the Yonex Korea professional corporate team yes. As a player on their roster. But that does not mean that he has a personal sponsorship contract with them like LCW or TH or LD. To simplify it further. He's just an employee so to speak.
If I remember right, LCW did have to wear Victor's apparel for the...was it Thomas Cup or the SEA Games because they were team events and Team Malaysia is already under Victor's umbrella. But he got to use his Yonex racquet and I think shoes as well. Memory's fuzzy... I need a coffee.
Simple. He has to wear Victor clothing when playing in team/country tournaments where he represents the Malaysian team as one of the competing members in the competition. This is because BAM's equipment sponsor is Victor. As an individual during the regular circuit he plays for the country as BAM is the one sending him to tournaments but represents himself so he uses Yonex which is his personal sponsorship. Evidently the areas where the contracts clash have been hashed out and smoothed over by all parties so there's no confusion about it unless you don't know a single thing about what's going on.
