Saw Momota playing like Olympics again and changed the stream to the SYQ match in the starting moments of the second set :D

Because of Momota everybody learnt the running game. But they kept their powerful attacks while Momota does not. Momota already does not have the shot quality he had previously. So it is even less now.

So many shots out. This would not happen in 2019. In addition to that the players feel good when their smash land. It boost their confidence.

Agreed. LD started doing the running game and was criticized for doing so. Ppl just want to see all out attack like the peak LD/LCW and honestly I am starting to miss those.

So far VA has been the most impressive, considering he has his ankle surgery not too long before the olympics and still managed to came back to the top of the game

MS department is suddenly becoming an open field (when VA is not there) after the pandemic
The quality and players seems to increase (and still will be) a bit
    This is interesting

Wow. I can understand losing 2-3x in a row against top 8 (it happens even for WR1) in the world but losing to player 2 straight-straight to player outside WR30. How bad is that for confidence?

To be honest, LD never ran much on the court. His wristy deceptions made sure his opponents did all the running.

Or he just don’t have the shots as before, the attacks from him are not threatening at all. Every points seemed to be hard earned..

I miss the times LCW would just win pretty much every match in team competitions. :( Seeing Kento lose this tamely just sucks.

    Momota 2019 had t
Axelsen? I think it will be a bit difficult. Axelsen is the one who first started to adopt the running game just to counter Momota. I think he masters it now. Add to that his reach and powerful attacks.

BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION OUT HERE IN BC

    Momota's attack was never strong

Watch his 2019 Denmark Open Campaign, He thundered 419 kmph against Praneeth from the singles service baseline. Another 405 plus against Chen Long and 417 against Sugiarto with a body smash.

His attack was the most threatening out there in the entire tour.
