Lemme buy some hair gel ... THEN LOOK NO FURTHER! BWAHHAHAHAHAHAH Thanks for the advice, badrad/cappy75. Looking forward to my time at VRC. Visited the gym last night (not well enough for baddy yet). It's a little small, leans toward exercise machines rather than free weights. On the plus side, it's cozy and not crowded at all. I hope with the (rumor) expansion, the gym'll be upgraded with more free-weights for back, legs, chest exercises. -dave
No wonder the changing room's benches are sticky sometime. Cappy75 had a close call with that glue-like substance . I will tell ya. That dude who always practise nude yoga has an interesting hobby. Just wonder what else he does when no one is around. Was your double partner the one who almost chopped off little badrad's hand?
Er... I really don't wanna know what that sticky stuff is. Never knew anybody would do nude yoga in the changing room. At least he has a good taste in music... always set the dial to CBC 105.7FM.
Cappy75 is just joking . But we do have a couple of wild badders who might chop off your hand with their racquets .
No doubt man... Ever saw my half way dead pic / clips? That's what they did to me. But, hey, fun fun and fun...
Hi VRC-ians, You guys sound like a terrific bunch. I live in Victoria and travel to Vancouver once in awhile and hope to meet up with fellow BCers/BFers sometime. Now, I know VRC is a private club but, does it feature special days for non-members or Guest Days or Guest privileges for non-members. I would like to check out the club the next time I'm in town. Can someone provide some info or advise where I can obtain the info... Thanks.
You're more than welcome to join us for games. We usually come out on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings (starting at 8:30pm or later). Guest passes can be purchased at the office or bar, otherwise drop-in is $10 plus the requisite member sign-in.
so i was reading the VRC website about guest privs and they mentioned something called social guests... what does that mean? people who come to watch but not play?
Yup! Dunno if you could last the whole night just watching us play. Most visitors would rather shell out the $10 for a game or two than agonise over exciting games while sitting on the side benches. Also, the drop-in fee allow you to use all the facilities... shower and changing room as well as the gym.
Be careful, this is the typical VRC TRAP!!! 1st, they let u know how much fun and give u a warm welcome. Then, u will see 20+ BFers (even non BFers) waiting in line for u. With several consecutive matches, ur arm will be sore and legs are cramping, etc. hehehheheh... at least, with my lowly skill and absolute no endurance, that's what happened. Of course, that's a joke. Come and visit VRC when u get a chance, u will get a great night of workout with exciting games, and tons of great ppl around. That's totally worth the $10 from ur wallet.
