2009 New Zealand Open GP

YESSSSSS!!!!
Rupesh and Sanave won the Men Doubles!!
I was tired of seeing Indians losing at most crucial moments :)

I am waiting for India to be the 6th badminton powerhouse...

The first 5 are obviously:
China
Indonesia
Malaysia
Korea
Denmark

The next 5 should be;
India
England
Australia
USA
Brazil
:D

I'm just thinking ahead.... :p Without enthusiastic participation from countries all over the globe, the future of the game is not so fantastic... :(

India is still atleast 20 years away from becoming any potent force.
China is way above and deserve a separate listing in itself. Though, IMO, this is dangerous to the sport. I don't know if anybody apart from Chinese play table tennis any more . I respect the Chinese power and passion for the sport, but I love badminton even more. I won't like seeing badminton going the table-tennis way. The more the merrier.

NZL is slightly ahead of Australia at Badminton most of the time

Australia and New Zealand should team up together.
.
Hahaha... It would be a dream for Australia and New Zealand to team up together.
With our AUS-NZL Rivalry, it'll never happen. ;););)

I think New Zealand has been kind of weak lately, Australia could possibly be ahead for now. Anyway, I don't think it would even make much difference if NZ and Aus teamed up :p.

If you can't beat 'em, why not join 'em??..

There you go :)

BTW, I would replace Australia from that list with New Zealand... they may have the numbers and funding, but I think historically NZ does better than AUS :p

NZ have no market... too few people... many many cattles though...

If we see the world today, yes, Japan is up there, but we need the whole planet to be involved in badminton...

The next Six.......shd be... Jap, England, Hong Kong, Thailand, India and Chinese Taipei.......

That's the situation right now... We need the BIGGER countries like the US, India, Brazil to be involved... maybe Russia too... :D
