Malaysia's 2nd best MS and MD players were humiliated in the 1st round of the main draw by unseeded opponents.
The much touted Chong Wei Feng couldn't even handle Vladimir Ivanov bowing out in straight games 18-21, 11-21 in 35 minutes.
The same humiliation was handed to Hoon Thien How/Tan Wee Kiong (S7) by the unseeded and unknown Chinese players, Kang Jun/Liu Cheng, 9-21, 13-21 in 28 minutes.
What's wrong with the Malaysians who couldn't even pass the 1st hurdle? Their coaches are as good as those for their opponents and so no blame could be attributed to them. In fact they can get better perks and facilities in the BAM set-up than many others in other countries. They just have to buck up.
maybe the weather is too cold.
