I'm looking forward to a dream Lin Dan - Lee CW semifinal, hope the the two of them don't screw up tomorrow, whatever they may have in mind. I mean, it's high time for the Super Trio, Lin Dan, Chen Long, Lee CW, to test each other out at least once before the ultimate goal in Rio.

Last chance for Wang Yihan to prove her worth

Former World's best Wang Yihan will take on World Champion Carolina Marin in an exciting QF clash. This may be her last chance to impress LYB and co as both Li
Xuerui and Wang Shixian are leading the race of Rio Selection by quite a margin compared to rest of Chinese WS.

Marin who was unable to defend her All England crown will be pumped up to conquer Malaysia again. The fact that Marin has beaten Wang Yihan in their last 3 encounters will give her an advantageous boost.

Both players haven't dropped a set so far.

If the right Wang Yihan shows up tomorrow, I think she can beat Marin.

If you watched CM in g2 against TJY, she looked beatable I mean she doesn't look the same Miss Formidable from 2015!
But I still doubt WYH's chances her match against HBJ in the Swiss Finale is still fresh in my memory! I would rather put RI or PVS against now looking considerable week CM

Calm and Collected Lee Chong Wei will be out to tame hot tempered Dane.

The lightning fast Lee Chong Wei will look to earn a Semi Final berth but a familiar obstacle will be in his path trying to stun Shah Alam stadium. Viktor Axelsen who has secured victories over Chen Long and Lin Dan will have the oppurtunity to become only third active professional to have earned victories over 'Bermuda Triangle'. Expect VA's offence to trouble Malaysian hero and LCW's speed to create havoc in Danish camp.

tough one though, in Malaysia. One that Lin Dan has never won. Given that he has 2 Olympic Golds in his bag, to snatch the win from Lee Chong Wei at his home ground is harder than winning the Olympics.

I am afraid Viktor will not only be fighting against Lee Chong Wei, but also a whole stadium of supporters.

Porntip used to be my fave Thai WS before the advent of Intanon. It seems that Porntip is making a comeback of sorts, she's beginning to play better badminton than previous years.

Not sure of her chances with the in-form Saina though.

Sindhu did well to take out both HBJ and SJH; however, I'd still give the edge to Intanon.

WSX vs TTY can go either way.

Carolina Marin looked quite shaky in her match against Tee Jing Yee.
But for a few thin errors, Jing Yee would have won the second game - and who knows, the third too!

Marin will need to be at her screaming best to push Wang Yihan over.

Personally, I make exception for a true champion and don't place too much emphasis on home ground advantage to his opponent/rival. To me, it's all a matter of how much Lin Dan wants to win it, humbling him on his home soil, for that would absolutely give Lin Dan a huge psychological boost come the Olympics.

Imagine, if the Olympics were to be held in MAS one day, does it mean LCW (assuming he's still around) will definitely have a clear advantage over all his rivals? I don't think so as I believe Lin Dan, Chen Long, and other serious contenders would rise to the occasion if it's meant to be when the time comes. Psychological advantage on home ground there surely is but it can work both ways, turning into added pressure on the host player(s). When you want something badly, you overcome all obstacles and rise above yourself.

In fact, I make bold to say I'm also looking forward to a Lin Dan - Chen Long Dream Final. Let's see how it goes.

    Match of the Day PREVIEW:

    Battle of Proactives

Lin Dan and Jan O Jorgensen are two of the most proactive shuttlers on the circuit due to their superior control. Expect a tactical chess game from the two if the conditions allow them .

Lin Dan won their previous match at All England Open,a match which followed a strange routine. Jan is the sharper of the two while Dan has the better touch. One of the sharpest forehand will meet the most creative forehand. If Lin Dan adapts to the conditions well, the task will become twice as difficult for JOJ who is mentally weaker of the two and needs only few straight points to hand momentum to his opponent.

Jan was impressive in his thrashing of Iskandar Zainuddin while Lin Dan scored a 'typical LD' victory in the previous round.

IMHO, if Victor can't beat Momota he definitely can't beat LCW :)

I think on form RI will win vs. PVS, Marin to win vs. WYH, WSX will find no trouble facing TTY and I dare to say Porntip will prevail vs. Saina.

    The Glorious 2012 Olympics Final

    ~The Decider............16-18 down
~Fighting against a LCW who was playing better than ever and giving his 200% to clinch Malaysia's first ever Olympic Gold
    ~LYB barking order after order
~Wife, father and mother in the stand
~Responsibility being the face of Li- Ning.
~ Hopes of Billions of people
~ Oppurtunity to cement his place as the Greatest Ever
    ~ And many more

But Lin Dan still stood tall in the end.

No Badminton player except for LCW has experienced such a skull crushing pressure........

    Very exciting QF in WS!
    • Saina Newhal should not have much difficulty against Porntip, but all the rest will have to fight hard to win!
    • TTY vs WSX and RI vs Sindhu should be especially interesting.
    • CM vs SY is hard to predict given the pretty disastrous performance of CM yesterday in G2 where she had to come back from 1-9, and then from 9-16. CM seems to be really emotionally instable on court. If she keeps her focus she should have the edge over WY.
    In MS:
    • Chen Long vs Tian Houwei should be a good one, too.
    • I doubt Jorgensen / Axelsen will be able to upset LCW/ Lin Dan but it could be good matches nonetheless.
    • Ouseph vs Jonathan is really the surprise QF match here! Who would have thought ^^'
Very exciting QF in MD too, every top pair having passed the first two rounds.

In WD, a real foretaste of the upcoming Uber Cup for Japan and China, important matches all in all.

    In XD:
    • ADCOCK vs NATSIR should be an interesting one. Can the english team follow-up on their AE win?
    • NIELSEN vs. Petersen should also be a good match.
