Please don't make us disappointed! I think BWF needs to watch their matches very carefully to ascertain whether they really put in the effort, knowing that they are high up there in ranking!
Although technically you are right, the Asia Continental Championship awards Super Series ranking points. For ranking purposes, it is virtually a Super Series event.
Thanks CLELY, I like to see Srikanth regaining his form and reach finals here. Saina didn't play ? I don't understand her. Why she don't wanna play here but want to play china masters intead! Strange decision. She can get good ranking points here. Why do she wanna miss it !
Only one Singaporean won her match so far: 10:20 AM WS - Qualification Hui Zhen Grace Chua [SIN] - [INA] Hera Desi 17-21 21-19 21-18 1:01 A pleasant surprise that Grace managed to beat Desi, but just barely.
Our hopeful, LKY, was unabe to unseat veteran Sony: 10:30 AM MS - Qualification Sony Dwi Kuncoro [INA] - [SIN] Kean Yew Loh 21-18 21-16 0:38
Guru must pull up his socks now as ZZ is leading at the G3 interval 11-8, having lost G1 21-14 but reclaimed G2 21-16.
FYI, see print screen of "BWF QUALIFICATION SYSTEM – GAMES OF THE XXXI OLYMPIAD – RIO 2016" manual, page 3. .
I'm just saying SG Open is not the last Super Series, that's all. ABC is the last in the qualifying period, because it is virtually Super Series.
Hi Doc, when will you be there? I may visit for the evening XD session. Wonder when abedeng will be arriving?
Bro, ABC is not graded as Superseries level, you are misleading other Bros and Sister in BC. Please get the correct reference and don't anyhow name it. Please refer to BWF manual on WORLD RANKING SYSTEM (Part III, Section 1B, Appendix 6). Under line 6.7, ABC is graded as GPG, hence Singapore Open is the last Superseries tournament to offer Rio Olympic qualification points.
so sad. the last time I went to Singapore Open was 2004. At that time, Lee Chong Wei got into the final but still "new" to the circuit. 12 years already, but these days schedule is not easy to come by, kids are in school. I will have to wait for another 8 years when they all head off to college before I can travel freely. Hopefully I will be able to visit Singapore Open again.
Unfortunately, it was too late for Guru: 11:10 AM MS - Qualification Zulfadli Zulkiffli [MAS] - [IND] R. M. V. Gurusaidutt 21-14 16-21 21-17 1:05
Yes, our BC fans, even from around the region, met you, your good wife and your mom, some 12 years ago. Remember that huge original BC banner that your mom commissioned? Pleasant memories and we look forward to seeing you again. Hope I can last that long!
Goh Soon Huat got the better of Kenta Nishimoto in G1, 21-18. But will the Japanese turn the table in G2 to force a decider? 12:20 PM MS - Qualification Goh Soon Huat [MAS] - [JPN] Kenta Nishimoto
