How is Taufik dangerous? 3 set against HYH and Andrew Smith. Not exactly top of the heap. Of course if he has been holding back in the previous match, today he will have to unleashed everything against Peter who suprisingly is playing better than he did 2 years ago.

This is the part that he is dangerous......when hold back .........and control the previous two matches.......................and suddently unleashed 100%....i think PG.........will find him very hard to handle.....today....

    Hmm..

..well, you should read indra's other posts and you'll find out he's hands down, bar none and no-doubt-about-it Taufik's biggest promoter..
..so, whose fault is it if Taufik didn't participate in those AEs?? Did LinDan tell him to stay home??
Taufik also won titles (which have been very few and in between) without LinDan's presence, so should we discount those titles as well?

Any statistic that when TH won tourney, LD was absent (only in Major title such as AE, AG, OC, WC) ? :)
At least this will give a clue to cooler :)

    A bit off topic-Yeah..

..answer is no (cooler knows that).
    ..for more stats, see here:

Scarce titles for Taufik. Last "significant one" (in terms big prize money) was the 2006 Indonesia Open, a tourney which LinDan has avoided like a plague (i believe since 2005)..

Heck, as a matter of fact, Taufik had missed quite a few tourneys where LinDan had won. Should we discount those titles won by LinDan, as well??
Again, the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games are debatable "big tourneys" (i've already given the reasons). The only 3 "big ones" that really count are the:
    1. All England
    2. Olympics
    3. World Championships
    4. Maybe the Grand Prix Final (which occurred prior to 2000). Last yr's version of the Super Series Masters Finale.

I think TH missed 2005 AE due to injury, so this one is no one's fault. He got married in 2006 and argued with PBSI in 2007, so these two are arguably TH's faults.

Also, in fact, TH won quite a few titles beating LD along the way: 2004 Indonesia MSSF TH 2:1 LD, 2005 Singapore MSSF TH 2:0 LD, 2005 WC MSF TH 2:0 LD, 2006 AG MSF TH 2:0 LD. I am not sure whether there are other tournaments in which TH won but LD was beaten by some other player.

Yes, you're right. It used to be only TH could beat LD,then along came LCW.Now possibly even PG can be trouble with MF as coach.PG's changed tactics in KO09 gave LCW expensive education.

    ^^A bit off topic-Yeah..^^

    1. As our DinkAlot likes to write : Egg-zachary!..Well, it's not really Taufik's "fault", but it's definitely not LD's "fault" either..;)

    2. No doubt Taufik had won over LD several times....but so had LD over Taufik.
Point is, someone earlier mentioned "If Taufik wins this AE, he will be the greatest badminton player in the history"....Really??? Based on??... :p

    - based on his 7 vaporware tricks
    - based on his illusional or delusional fan base:p
    - based on his ability to play like half his age (ie 13 yes old)
    - based on number of time TH beat LD but disregarding the number more times LD beat TH.

My guess is: based on LD has not won AG yet (call it bias or not).

lets get real, practically all of the ten top have beaten LD before: lcw, pg, psh, simon s, soni k, lhi, RS, CJ, BCL, CH, etc Having TH beating LD before doesn't make him more special.

There is one difference. The LD TH beats is a solid World No.1; The TH LD beats is a player who loses to PG, Sony, Simon, CJ, LCW, BCL, and many others.

Delusional fan base? Based on what? A certain member making outrageous claims just for the fun of it? Delusional? :(
