Can Taufik win the AE MS title this time?

He should revert back to the 900T

For what? To increase the re-sale value of my AT 900T when I can tell people that Taufik uses it???

I don't recall him doing great with that racket at all, besides winning the Macau open a year or two ago.

I don't know, to me his usual trick shots looks really weak. Assuming he uses the same tension and string in this match, then it's the racket. I've been watching him since he started using AS and it doesn't look as well as his usual self..

You forgot to take into account that 1. he is only getting older, and 2. he may not have trained as hard as he possibly can.

Just look at Chen Hong at his prime and the time after he left CHN national team... in less than 1 year, his famous powerful smash was as weak as guys like LCW and Bao ChunLai. Well, I guess you can blame those "Victor" rackets that he used after going independent.

Yes I realize that those 2 should be taken into accounts. But just by seeing how he different he played before and right after he changed. I'm not a fan of the AS tbh..

Taufik is still one of our better players

I'm happy with his performance in getting to the SF :). He said he will do his best for his fans at the AE. He never said he will win ;). Mainly it's people like the interviewers on PlanetBadminton that keep saying things like "you're one step closer to your dream of finally winning the AE" after every match he plays...
.
Well said phaarix. :):):)

TH, PG, LCW and LD are still generating interests for us at Badminton Central.
And TH defeated PG at the 2009 All England.

Currently, Taufik is still one of our better players.

Did you not see Taufik playing Gade? His control was superb. It was psychology that resulted in the errors during the game against LCW, not the racquet..

2009 chance is over for TH, possibly he'll be back next year for his elusive title, All England...Let's see!

Hopefully Taufik will follow Gade's example and keep playing and winning into his 30's.

Not so sure about that though, I think Taufik's body has taken some pretty bad injuries over the years.

Please don't make it sounds like TH funeral:p He has definitely make this sport more popular. I am sure one day current great playere like LCW and LD will go downhill too once the age catching up to them and also with more up and coming youngsters joining the force. Good example is XXF.

trick shots are done by the user, not the racket.

haiya....indra...faster come out to post before uncle oldhand come to close the thread....

Ok..ok...I was out of town from Saturday to last ight...

I watched the TH vs LCW....yeah...LCW played very well...on the other hand TH seemed to be exhausted and committed a lot of unforced errors, making him hard to demonstrate his 7 weapons of mass destruction....

Congrats to LCW....and

And I admit for this year AE, LD was very well prepared...congrats too to LD for his spetacular achievement in the AE.....!!!!

Let's see what will happen in the Swiss SS.....That would be a "judgement day" for LD and LCW....:D

Because....let's continue in the Swiss SS thread....:D

..are you positive it's only those people from PlanetBadminton, who've been hyping his chances to finally win the AE by venturing in his newly independent pro status, and none in this forum??.. ;)
