if he really said that...i can conclude he is a bad coach in the world!!!but juz now i real the news,he said he never say that b4 and he said:''李宗伟本来是李永波最欣赏的运动员之一,但今年马来西亚公开赛上发生的一件事改变了李永波对他的看法。

i dont know how to translate to english..sry..

I tends to trust LCW more than LYB. YB is just too notorious for his bad temper.

This thread stinks of prejudice and bias. I don't believe for a second that LYB ever threatened to break LCW's legs, I don't even think LCW's Chinese is good enough to under whatever LYB is yelling on the court.

If LCW's performance can be affected just because someone yelled at him, then he's more pathetic than I thought and he doesn't deserve to win anything, and you know what, next time I see him play, I will be yelling at him to lose too. A weak minded person doesn't deserve to be a winner.

If LCW is really such a weak minded loser, you Malaysian fan may just have to face the fact that LCW is just your own village chamipion who will never win a major tournament out side his country. Reality is tough, if you cannot learn to swallow it, you might just choke on it.

Well, you may say that i am biased too but let me clear something: Lee Chong Wei didn't blame his loss on Li Yong Bo. He said that Bao Chun Lai played well that day. He was just disgusted with Mr Li's attitude.

Please make it clear by reading the article carefully.

One thing i can assure you is that most of the malaysian chinese have a good command of Mandarin and dialects. We speak Mandarin in our daily life and learn the language as our mother tongue. We even have the chance to learn Mandarin in our schools.

Just because you don't understand chinese(mandarin) that doesn't mean Malaysian Chinese like LCW doesn't speak chinese. What kind of language do you think LiMao and LCW communicate. You are so ignorant!

LCW didn't blame LYB for his loss? Oh Purrrlease! Ever since BCL kicked his arse in the semis, he's been looking everywhere for excuses, "oh, LYB yelled at me, I was soooooo scared that I lost the game ... oh, I think BCL's excellent performance might have had something to do with it too ..., but damn that LYB, why did he have to yell at me!!". There is no shame in losing a game, but it's shameful to blame other people for your own weakness. He was disgusted with LYB's attitude? I'm disgusted with him being a loser who's afraid of admitting his own problems.

Oh I'm clear on everything. You malaysian fans have had this bottled up anger ever since LD kicked LCW's arse in the last three major tournaments, and you guys finally snapped when your village champion failed to perform once again -- and lost to another Chinese player who's' not even the best on his own team.

Your aaurance means nothing to me. I've seen and heard of my share of Malaysian Mandarin, yeah sure, they can figure out what's going on when a native speaker stands next to them and speaks slowly and patiently with lots of body languages. Don't take this the wrong way, and I'm not dissing your native language, whatever it is, but all the Chinese Malaysians I've met speak less grammatical Mandarian than a 5 year old native speaker, and none of them have a competent command of Chinese colloquialism.

Who's more ignorant? I was born and educated in China and Mandarin is my first language. My current club in Melbourne is coached by an ex-WC doubles champion from China, and I've seen him coach the Malaysian players who "speak" Mandarin -- the coaching is mostly done through the coach's sign language and the coach has to speak really slowly in really simple sentences to make them understand.

There is a big difference between communicating with someone during coaching, and actually understand them in a naturall environment. LCW might understand Li Mao (who is an ex Chinese coach btw) during training -- but he probably has a snowball's chance in hell to understand the yelling of a native speaker of Mandarin.

Seriously, when do you ever hear the Chinese players blame their coaches or other coaches or even the judges for their losses? Every time when they lose, they just admit they sucked and promise they will try harder next time. Why? Because they know that on the court, they are the only ones responsible for their performances, and anything outside the court is irrelevant. If LCW cannot understand this, he will always remain a village champion.

Hi Newplayer. I was just stating my points politely to you. Please be polite too. I don't want this thread to be closed.

First of all, Lee Chong Wei didn't say that he was so scared that he lost the game. He has never said that he was being frightened by Mr. Li'S words. He said that he thinks a head coach shouldn't act like this. In his opinion, It is very unsportsmanlike to behave like this.

Second, i don't think we are angry ever since Lin Dan won over CHong Wei's in the last 3 tournaments. In fact, i am happy to see Lee Chong Wei improving in each tournament though he has lost. I never have this bottled up anger towards Lin Dan due to his win. He deserves it as he plays a good badminton too. On the other hand, Chong Wei has gained a lot of respects due to his hard work and attitude. He improves a lot and i am sure one day he will beat Lin Dan if he never gives up trying.

Third, why don't we chat on phone so that you can judge wheather my Mandarin is good or not. Our Mandarin might not be as good as the people from China but for sure, i can understand well when my friends from China are talking among themselves.

Ok.. so you are a chinese.

So you agreed your opponent's coach shout at you and want his player to break your leg during the game. So, if you can take the pressure, then you are not a village champion.

Gee, you guys have just spent 14 pages of posts bashing LYB, and you are telling me to be polite?

Why the hell should LYB be blamed for someone else's misunderstanding? LCW just thought he heard LYB threatening him and decided to use it as a diversion for his poor performance in the tournament.

Say whatever you want to say, but when I see 14 pages of LYB bashing after all the LD bashing in the threads of the other tournaments, I think I know what's going on. LCW is mentally weak, that's a fact. Don't blame the Chinese for his problem.

Oh whatever, there are so many Chinese in Malaysia, a few of you are bound to speak some decent Mandarin. Incidentally, were you there when LYB yelled at LCW? Have you spoken to LCW in person? Has any native speaker of Mandarin ever had a non-trivial conversation with LCW and declared that his Mandarin is excellent?

LCW mainly stated that he lose because he admitted BCL played well and also some bad line calls. And the way he exposing LYB's wrong attitude is nth wrong and its a different matter. He is provoking LCW! So do u think he is right? And a coach trying to help his own players to win by using these dirty tactics is PATHETIC. U do not need to like LCW, u really need to respect players from other countries when stating yr comments. We did not call yr players a "village player" when they had not archieve sth big yet, did we?

Gee, who's the frog here? Do you even know what that saying means? I've probably met more Malaysian Chinese than you've met mainland Chinese. I think a more appropriate saying to describe my experience is "Seeing a leapod from a tube". Everything I've said about Malaysian Chinese's ability to speak Mandarin comes directly from my experience, I'm not diss your guy's Chinese profiency here -- as I know that your country hasn't been very kind to people of Chinese ethnic background. I'm merely point out that it's' most likely that LCW misunderstood LYB's yelling and he's usiing it as an excuse to distract other people from criticising his poor performance.

Geez, all of you stop bickering, it's pointless. No one will know for sure what happened as each side has his own story.

    Too much badminton drama. :p

Ok tell u what, EVERYBODY bashes LYB. Because he is such an ass, try reseaching bout the Zhou Mi and Li Mao inccident! Go see some chinese forums yourself, the bashing is many time worser than here. And the bashers r mainly chinese ppl! Even B4 the WC starts, someone reporters from HKO has already exposed how LYB shout to LD to break his leg. So many of us had not really surprise when that happens again.

Well, i have never used impolite words when i criticised Mr Li's attitude.

I think the thread you meant where we criticised Lin Dan might be the Malaysia Open. Well, maybe you should watch the video of Malaysian Open first so that you will understand why we criticised him.

I have heard LCW's interview before on TV. So i can tell you that he speaks good Mandarin.

Ok, where is elwin81? Maybe he can tell you what happened there as i wasn't there to watch the live.

Badminton should be a gentleman's sport. I like so many chinese players before as examples Yang Yang, Sun Jun, ZJH, Ye Zhao Ying, Ge Fei/Gu Jun etc etc.
