Loh Do u still need the tickets for the S/F & Fianls on 25 & 26 ? My friend in Sydney said, he can probably get me 2 pass or 2 comp tickets for the 25 & 26 matches. I don`t think the Badminton event is at MCG. Should be at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. If I am right.
Hi guys, Here is another veteran happy to join for a few hit....if the time is right....now all i need is to go to my garage and find my rackets. I only managed to get the tickets for final, so see all of you there.
If you're looking to offload any tickets, I'd definately be interested. Haven't worked since October so I couldn't buy any.
It's held at the Melbourne Exhibition Center. I'm pretty sure. Either that or I've been assigned to the wrong sport.
Oh thanks a million kong-19, if you can get them for me, the SF & F tickets or passes. Are you sure they are complimentary? It can't be true, can it? Please let me know. I'm already very excited about the possibility!
Yes, that was what I meant for MCG. Yes I also know that badminton is held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. I will have a great time exploring Melbourne in 8 days but my Singapore baddy friends assured me that I won't get lost. Btw kong-19, are you related to my good friend, Chan Kong of Brisbane? He should be at the MCG to watch and play badminton with us.
Hi BF, you're most welcome to join us. Just wonder whether we are able to firm up some dates soon? Maybw FEND and Tze yang can liaise with Twodogs or Kim?
If not, where on earth u can get such offer ? I alaways share good stuffs with good friends. Don`t u agree ?
Ah, so you are indeed my good friend, the man himself, the one that I last met during the HK Open! What a pleasant surprise to hear from one who rarely posts in the Forum!
If anyone's interested (and has google earth) I've posted a couple of bookmarks for where the badminton is being played, and also the opening and closing ceremonies (and athletics) here http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31064
You guys have to start telling us if its fine for u to get to kilsyth or not and if ur most likely gona be playing...then i or maybe someone else can check aand see when r courts available in kilsyth and post it here then decide a date..i dnt think we need to book tho...its mostly empty other than club nights or us juniors training
This and That... Hey there guys! Tze Yang, I don't mind going wherever is convenient for us to go in order to have some games. My only 2 main concerns are: 1. I don't have transportation but won't mind catching trams to get to the playing venue. 2. As I'm doing the IBF coverage report on the events, and I see each day the event starts from 9am to 11pm except for semis and finals day! Geez! I'm not sure what my schedule will be like until I'm actually there. I might be able to sneak out for a few hours here and there I presume...but I'm definitely keen to play so long as I can get away during the times you guys arrange for playing. Loh - I think you'll find the term "off load" some tickets is a kiwi/aussie slang for "keen to sell" some tickets. So it's not free - The minimum I think you'll find you'll have to pay what the guy paid for those tickets. Nothing in this world is free my friend! I think I might be in trouble! As I'm not sure what the hostel I'm staying will be like, I only booked my accomodation from 15th to the 17th, which means I still need to look for somewhere to stay from the 18th to the 26th. So I hope I'll find something when I'm actually there or I'll be sleeping in the badminton stadium itself! A
IF you have an acreditation pass if I'm not wrong you will access to free public transport. As for hostels... come to Urban Central . I'm serious. It's only 5 mins walk (I timed) from the place to the Melbourne Exhibition Center.
how much and are tickets still available for quater finals team match?can some1 tell me plz...coz on the web site it says its $35 some1 here said its 18
All the best and have fun watching the games. Team Malaysia is leaving to Melb tonight. They will definately try their best to win gold.
From the newspapers here, tickets START at $15 (probably plus a booking fee, which would explain the discrepancy) and go up to $65. The article didn't say which games they were for though.
Ants, I'm surprised that you are not leaving with the Msian Team. They need you as their mascot! Not to worry, the Individual MS and MD are almost guaranteed. As for the Mixed Team, no other country except perhaps England can really give Msia a good fight for gold. Adelina, actually my Brisbane friend, kong-19, was offered complimentary tickets but he was a bit late and now I have to pay for them! :crying: Anyway, this senior gentleman will be joining us at Melbourne but he is assured of accommodation as he is staying with a friend. Why don't you take up FEND's suggestion to stay at UCB, only a 5-min walk to MEC. I'm all prepared to take in all of Melbourne from Mar 18-26!
Just don't expect to get anywhere very quickly while the games are on! Traffic & pub transport are already a nightmare and the games haven't even started yet!
