Yeah WC is nothing more than a title. If you cant win any title maybe you can point out if you win WC, so in a way its cowardice. To me its just a title. hell JapanOpen maybe worth more than WC. a title that is played any other year is just a title. Its when you can win many titles then become great.

OG & AG is the exception.

She did it twice actually. India Open 2015, she was 17-9 down against Marin at the opening round, then she won the next 10 points or so to eventually win that round.

My point is, Marin's game would not be effective againts skillful and tactical players because she rellies on speed and agrresion when speed and agrresion is not the solution to counter deception and tactics.

Case in point. Sindhu vs Marin; 90% chance Marin would win. Marin vs TTY/RI; 60:40 chance in favour of TTY/RI. Marin vs Okuhara; 60:40 chance in favour or Marin, only because of Okuhara's limitaion in reach.

I think I pointed out above HBJ's problem other than stamina.

If they said so, then i believe they are just haters :)

Personally to me LYD is the best of all time. 37SS titles. 22 titles for Kevin to reach GOAT status.lets go!! plus LYD didnt have AG gold but i consider him to be the most consistent player.

This was a strange match. Li/Liu was playing well as of late. They have become a lot more consistent and were getting deep in all tournaments they play...

Except for the class, which these two Indonesian MD pair sadly do not have.

The Chinese pair gesture/body language exhibited to give up, lack of fighting spirit, what a big disappointment. An anticlimax match to close final day that the organizer, badminton fans, spectators expect interesting MD showdown.

Actually, I have in mind Marin at her best during the major championships or when it mattered most, she is damn hard to beat. Though Marin has mostly speed, power and aggression ,it made up for her lack in deception and technical skills, and, moreover, she is a mature, highly experienced player now.

Sure, HBJ has other problems, such as inconsistency, proneness to errors, mentally not tough enough, except that I see her number one issue is still fitness/stamina which,if resolved, will improve her game overall.

After her 2016 fine run at the Japan and the French Open followed by the Bitburger GPG victories in two months, she has been lackluster until the MAS and INA Opens where she showed signs of coming back again, so much so that it impressed Steen to the extent that he counted HBJ as one of the five 'super technicians' together with TTY, IR, NO,and AY, and even added that if she improves on her physique by 5% or more, she'd be a tough one to beat. Notably, she is one of the very few to beat TTY in recent months (6 to 9 months in GC's words, iirc), besides IR, another very gifted player.

As for her emulating Lin Dan, that's a tall order, not just for her, for anyone for that matter - she may have lots of talents as her coaches admitted, but certainly not the physique and mental strength (yet), both essential for success at the top. Well, she is still only 21 years old, hopefully, there is time on her side, the rest is up to her. It's still too early to say if she'll be one wasted talent or destined for greatness one day (my wish is the latter). Let the future tell.

The World Championships is just another tournament ? Just ask all the world's players and pairs if that is the case. Surely, they can speak for themselves.
