Just that one tournament, is it representative? I thought exception does not make the rule.

In that case, I should qualify my statement - The same can be said for the rest most of the time (90/95/99% ?).

Wait, one more exception, in Paris 2010, Park Sung Hwan, hoped he's happy to hear that. Actually, it's cold comfort, in the case of PSH, after beating Lin Dan in the QFs, he lost to Taufik Hidayat who in the final was bested by Chen Jin, the eventual world champion.

    My predictions for MS:
CL won't win gold and neither will it be from his opposing half.

i've to agree with @justin that the pressure for LCW will be much higher in the SF as losing mean that not even has a chance to go for gold.

We understand. Don't worry, nothing personal, not too serious. Just exchanging our views and opinions, disagreeing, debating, arguing, occasionally bickering is normal, esp when conducted in a cordial and civil manner, and in the process we learn from each other, sees things from different perspectives, and widen our horizons, even if we're proven wrong sometimes.:):)

Not CL, not LCW, not even LD, then who ? Of course, the possibility is always there , a matter of probability, high or low. That , to me, is a truism.

I assert that the probability of any one of the Super Trio - Lin Dan, Chen Long , or LCW - winning gold is very high, at least 90 - 95 %.

Lee Chong Wei's problem is neither the stage nor the past results.

His only problem is when Lin Dan starts playing mean and means business... When Lin Dan prepares well for LCW and has his 100% soul in the match trying to outplay LCW, that's where LCW succumbs.

That's the same problem for Jorgensen.

Not hypocrisy. Just a win- win situation. But Lin Dan has a stern test of Jorgensen first.

Both LD and LXR, who are the reigning OLY champions, have four players in their groups.

but both have a bye in the next round, it's much better actually with one more rest day for the QF and a "easier" player in the group rather than one in the last 16

so very weird. as it is not that the post was doubly posted. there is only one copy in the server. but instead it is doubly displayed. definitely something in the software and not the browser. let me see if there is a bug/fix for this.

I'm the opposite. I'd really want LCW to win but if I placed bets, it would be on LD

After playing three opponents in the group and then have a day off before the QFs, is not a bad thing as long as the momentum is still there.

LD, the only non- military athlete to represent China in the Olympics?

Thanks as I've been trying to solve the problem on the browser side, in vain. If I'm not wrong, it seemed to have happen to others before.

Sorry @kwun, there's another problem you might like to look into - when I type something in the message box or in reply to someone's post but before I've finished or submitted it,say I decide to reply to another post that catches my attention instead and start working on it but I noticed whatever I wrote for the previous post also appeared in the second post. As a result I had to manually delete what is unrelated to the second post before submitting it. Hope my description is clear to you.
