Both LS's father and Siyadut are coaching together, good to see. I hope Rituparna of WS still fights, she has talent.
I enjoyed the fighting spirit by a few determined individuals who almost toppled formidable INA. The most important step is to believe you can win, without self belief you stand no chance. Lakshya Sen, Dhruv Kapila/Arjun MR, Subhankar Dey rose to the occasion and fought till the last point. India was like a crippled team with limited resources, but with brilliant strategy and the desire to win they made the semifinals defying all expectations. India missed the final by a whisker but showcased their potential. I hope Lakshya Sen grabs the second Olympic quota. Lakshya was impressive and played like a senior player. The odds and time are heavily stacked against him.
Lakshya should have played thai masters and Spain Masters too. He'll play Austria Open, German Open, AE, Swiss Open. Let's see if he can grab that second quota or not. Would be very tough but it'll all help in experience.
She has the game. I watched her recent match against Marin in one of her recent tournaments. She played really well . But makes so many unforced errors. She was 19-15 in game 1 before losing the game to Marin.
Now they need to focus more on Lakshya, We cannot always expect miracles from him without having proper structure required for this level, good Physio's, foreign coaches, and sparring partners are essential for this level, I am not sure if PPBA has all of these, not many serious players came from there to play at this level. LS is special (his ability to play well at high level consistently), and I hope they treat him as one.
Srikanth Kidambi and HS Prannoy had already departed for Spain. Lakshya Sen got to play MS2 and Subhankar Day MS3. If India had qualified for the final, they would have had a problem as Praneeth was not fit to play. The positive was Lakshya and Subhankar showing the A team MS players how to play.
Did they upload it in insta ? I unfollowed them few days ago That means they knew there was no chance of them reaching the final? In that case one doubles player would have played singles. What a team management ? I think we are the only team which tells singles players to play doubles and doubles players to play singles.
This may have played a part in MD2 Dhruv/Arjun tanking from a good position. They knew they didn't have a team for the final.
SD, who is drawn to play SK in r1 of Barcelona Spain masters, played ms3 through Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hope BSP is not faking injury in order to coverup his give-up attitude. But how can KS, BSP being senior members give-up on a team, how can they assume that they won't reach final, in any field one should never give-up especially in sports. I hate HSP and KS now, till now I had some hope on KS, now that hope is died. With such sh*it attitude they can't come back again, their time is over, I am not going to follow them from now on.
It's also a case of not wanting to make the final. They have earned the qualification points and are now looking ahead. They are thinking about Qualification points in Spain. Basically putting self interest above team.
I think it is a difficult choice. Obviously, they should have performed better in previous tournaments to avoid this situation. Yeah, they fell down on that one big time with their failures.
