both pairs are really relax. i think this is a good win for Limpele/Marissa as they haven't been at the top of the game. the weakness of the pair is still Marissa who is not very pro-active in the court. on the other hand, Nova is the worse player between him and Lilyana. i wonder what would happen if Lilyana is partnered with Limpele.

actually, i wonder if Lilyana is partnered with Tony Gunawan, now that would be another Kim/Ra...

The dark horse has won

Flandy looks pretty aggressive in his attack while Vita is also quite solid guarding the net. Their style really troubles Nova/Butet and they eventually lost in 3 sets

The good thing is, Indonesia has uncovered a good backup pair which should go far in the Asian Games.

there was not much crowd in the stadium and they were so quiet. i don't see many mixed matches and the last one i saw was during last olympics. and the crowd was almost going crazy.
considering the fact that both teams were indos, there should have more than usual noise... :p

Okay, it is the third set. CCTV5 cut in late so I thought it was the first set. Good win from the underdog.

the crowd isn't too bad. this is a new and larger stadium than the one they used to use.

This has been the achilles heel of that partnership since they started pairing up end of 2004. Nova is getting old also, so, it's a headache for Richard Mainaky to find a good partner for Lilyana Natsir. Anggun Nugroho and Devin Lahardi are out of the question because they are even worse than Nova! Mohd Rizal has been paired up with Gresya Polii and they are a pair for the future.

One young player who will probably rise up to become Butet's partner is Lingga Lie.

yah, i concur...looking at the tv camera pan of the stadium, it's not packed at all...maybe from the other side, it's much more packed?!?!..i know the current stadium hall is 3x the size of the usual stadium where they hold the previous Japan Open(reason:under construction)..
now, they're showing the XD medal ceremony..

Well TVAnts is doing well. There are 270 people online as opposed to 9 on TVU. I've seen better receptions but the old adage about beggars comes to mind. It sure is nice to see some coverage after yesterday's deception.

it is very nice to see the two pairs so friendly, including the handshake at the end when Lilyana went over to the other end of the court to congratulate Limpele/Marissa, and how they are so close on the podium.

Marissa certainly looks rather touched, i cannot tell if that is tear or sweat on her face though.
