I actually play front and rear court with my n9ii, since it does wonders in pretty much anywhere on the court. But at the rear court, it does give me the best jump smash experience, of course. I did do a lot of backhand smashes at the front to mid court though, and the n9ii was just as satisfying. Not to mention, net play was awesome, also.
Np. Reasoning is simply that front court play isn't as easy and has to be more precise and quicker. It also needs more training to be proficient IMO. From the back court, your margins for error are larger and you have more time to prep. It's always harder to find players who excel at the front compared to the back. As in my own case, I developed my back court game first and only now am I trying to be more daring at the front and developing my netting and interception skills further than just dropping to force a lift. Oh god, stop it you. Alright, guess my chances of really getting the N9ii is 80% then! can't wait for the retailer to give me a call! I'm quite the opposite lol. I find it quite difficult to find the timing at the back, especially smashes, one reason (20%) I'm unsure if I wanted to get this racket. Wouldn't really want to sacrifice my mid-front play just so I can have a powerful smash :/ Nevertheless, still trying to play aggressively in the rear even though I'm very weak
Nothing wrong. Everyone finds their comfort zone somewhere. It's how we build it up further from there that makes us better players. Either way I have absolutely no issue with this at the front court. It ain't no bravesword but it is wicked fast. The balance is only slightly head heavy tbh. It's not like trying to wield a ZF II or TK9900 at the front. Those are relatively slow in comparison for front court work without a really strong wrist even in 4U. I just received my N9ii today, I haven't got the chance to try it out yet. Comparing side by side with my ZF1 it feels almost the same when i swing both racquets. I never tried it before, but I'm looking for a racket which is rather flexible & abit heavy head which is why I come into this.
Hmm, since you and Konquerin got no issues with N9II in front, I guess I'll take it. It is true that ZFII is too heavy overall and not to mention the stiffness as well, like holding a plank wood Now let the waiting game begin! Side note: You sir, are already a great player IMO Thanks and salute!
As I said in another topic, I'm a front court player but my back court play improved since I got n9ii. It's such an effortless smashing weapon. Setiawan was looking for the same thing I guess...
If a little flexible and a bit head heavy are what you are looking for then, the n9ii might just be your cup of tea .
I'm planning to get a N9II myself, having owned a N80 before. I love head-heavy rackets owning a 3U LDF and 3U VT80 but they swing rather slow compared to my N80 while my N80 feels like it needs a little more beef. Does anyone know how does the head heaviness compares between the N80/N80II and the N9II? The N9II seems perfect in this regard combining its slight head heavy balance and aero frame. I've actually tried a N9II of my friends but I guess I didn't like it since it was strung with the 66UM, could anyone vouch otherwise? Thx!
Strings are highly preferential. So I wouldn't ask anyone to vouch for that. As for the N9II and N80. Very different rackets. Both with speedy frames but different frame shapes and specs. N80 being head heavier and less stiff as well. Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
The n9ii is definitely a speedy racquet, even with its slightly head heaviness. The n9ii feels like it has the best balance of speed, control, weight distribution, and power. I strung mine with bg80 @ 26lbs, and it works wonders for me. But string choice is definitely a very subjective matter, everybody is different. Some like the hard feeling and others prefer the softer feeling. Sent from my STV100-2 using Tapatalk
I was looking at the specs and wanted an in-between the balanced N80 and my LDF. The N9II seems to fit the bill as it is a semi aero frame and slightly head heavy. It actually didn't occur to me that the N80 was a flexible racket. I owned it at the same time I had my old VT80 and found that the N80 either had less flex or that it was head light as I was mishitting alot when I first adopted the racket. It may have been to do with the speed of the aero frame but my experience doesn't quite match up to your description.
Everyone will have different experience with the racquet, as there is no one racquet that fits all. The n9ii fits my game style, but might not work for another, maybe give a little time and see how you adapt with it.
really depends on what you are used to. Its slowish compared to Bravesword but yes faster than arcsaber and Duora series. Its fantastic for back court, but I have some timing issues when it comes to front and net court kill. Need to train my wrist strength more as I have been a 4U Bravesword guy for too long
Joined the club, and more of my friends will be too. Generally positive feedback and reviews from all that have tried this racquet. Very solid feel, easy clears, stable smashes, good drives and versatile net play.
Welcome to the club! Did u get the black version or the green version? Either one looks great, but the black one is definitely more appealing to me. What string did you use, btw? I'm looking forward to hear more thoughts from you on the racquet.
Got the black and pink. My doubles partner got the other color combi, paired with green strings it looks kickass awesome. Both of us use bg66um. I am still trying out lining no. 1 on my BS12. Not a hard hitter and I dont mind restringing on a regular basis.
Finally got mine as well. The new color scheme was slightly more expensive but I liked the old colour anyways, strung LN1 at 26/28 and looks like a keeper to me. This thing is wicked responsive on the defensive and doesn't feel light on the smashes either, my new favorite racket on the mid and rear court.
