Right now its shocking how badly the Chinese return serve. They just push it into the middle of the court every time.
It's easy for Ko/Lee as they strolled to a striaght-set victory over the Rainbow pair. I guess it will be back to Shen Ye/Hong Wei for the World Championships.
If i were LYB, I'd make Hong Wei and Chai Biao practice nothing but serve and serve return for a month. Its their most glaring weakness.
It's true that Hong Wei does have a thundering smash. Nevertheless, as long as you don't lift the shuttle high, this pair is absolutely clueless. The overall match statistics (if your trust TS) is: 18 vs 13 smash winners for Ko/Lee 14 vs 11 net winners also for the Korean pair 8 vs 5 Other winners for the Korean pair -- which means more unforced errors for the CHN pair.
Angga/Rian are in a tricky match against the Thai pair. Ko Herry IP won't be happy if they lose in the first-round again this week.
Shockingly bad for Angga/Rian as well. Maneepong is absolutely superior compared to Angga in the front court.
Chai Biao is getting worse, 80% of the time giving points away easily to the opponents. Net play, defence play and long/short rallies play are really bad. He has to practise harder on these areas.
Much better from the INA pair in the second-set. Phuangpuapech is the weak link in the Thai partnership.
Sigh....another first-round defeat yet again for Angga/Rian as they lost to Jongjit/Phuangpuapech, 20-22 in the rubber-set, despite leading 19-17.
