Wouldn't the post office just reapply the VAT when it gets mailed to you?

If the total Declared value is below a certain amount (currently £60 I think) then no. The total value of goods & postage cost is taken into account.

Hence why some online stores ask if you want declared low value on the package to save us VAT...

Was joking I think the saving wouldn't be worth the hassle unless order loads of reels - but then it is a bit suspicious!

Will pick some up on my Hols...not long now:)

Just got a reel BG66UM two weeks ago. Also the Yonex flying clamp is cheap too.

Wow, just noticed that... $23 before removal of VAT, most places sell for $38. I might have to pick up a spare set... wish I'd seen these before I put my string order through...

Tell me about it. I just ordered a set of cheap MBS ones yesterday before reading this thread!!! DAMN!! On another note, is this store legit? Their strings seems REALLY cheap.

Thanks for the link boys, i just ordered myself a reel of BG66UM as well. I am currently using the NBG98 and found it to be an awesome string but it seems that the BG66UM is even better. Oh well, at $4.50cdn a pop, i can afford to break strings every 2 weeks! =) On another note, i am currently using 24x25 with the 98s, would tension be the same with the BG66UM? Lower or higher?

May have to pay that stringers world website a lot of money in May, having just purchased a new racket this month not sure I can justify spending (read afford to eat) if I buy new string this month (or April). Thanks for the link, I'm in the UK and had never heard of the website, some string choice that W and D strings don't have yet.

The site is owned by a BF member, who shall remain nameless. I would assume it is legit, I imagine they are imported strings.

The prices aren't ridiculously cheap. I mean they are cheap, especially at the current exchange rate but at the old €1.5 to 1 it's roughly the same price here. The prices elsewhere are just ridiculously expensive ;)

I'm not sure about that... prices for a reel of 66UM from any other site are at least twice as much...

the rest of the prices from stringersworld are not any better than what you would get from eric at squashmart or mybamdintonstore , eric wins with bulk orders but my badminton wins for smaller purchases because of the free shipping.

i checked out their tennis strings as well and everything comes close to tenniswarehouse or other online stores as well, the bg66um seems to be an exception .

agree. the BG66UM reel is even cheaper than BG80 in stringersworld whereas most part of the world BG66UM is more expensive.

It's new so naturally they want to milk it :D. I wouldn't be surprised if the wholesale price is indeed lower than BG80 ... On some old list I saw years ago BG80 was more expensive than NBG95 ...

Would he order there if they weren't ;)
