How do you know these teams won't participate? The website names Lee Hyun-il (but no Chinese players and no Taufik or Gade). If it were just wishful thinking, you would expect them to put Taufik, Lin Dan and Peter Gade on there, too. Another thread talks of Indonesian women expected to attend and, if I'm not mistaken, the Sigit/Flandi thread refers to the Philippine Open...Oops, my mistake this last one only talks of their participation in the Indonesian Open.
Okay, correction on the Korean front, anyway. They have a domestic tournament scheduled for next week and Lee Hyun-il, Shon Seung-mo, Park Tae-sang, Jang Young-soo, Jung Jae-sung, and basically all the usual suspects are on the draw sheet for that. It was likely scheduled before the Philippine Open date changes and they refused to re-schedule. It's a pretty busy spring. The IBF schedule has 5 big-money tournaments in a row - 4*,6*,5*,4*,5* from May 24th to June 25th - so, between that and the Thomas/Uber Cups, when Macapagal-Arroyo declared the emergency, there was really nowhere for Korea to move this tournament to. So where did you hear this, Han?
