When most of top echelons are preparing for Sudirman Cup, let's take a look a showcase of upcoming and second stringer players here. Both Hsu Jen Hao and Vincent Wong Wing Ki are pre tournament favourites based on their seeding position but some dangerous darkhorses may play protagonist role such as Lee Hyun Il, Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka, Simon Santoso. We'll looking forward to follow several back-ups and juniors from CHN, INA, MAS. In WS, China promising star He Bingjiao who succeeded in Changzhou recently is predicted to get another sparkling performance. Other notable participants are 2013 Asian Junior Champion Aya Ohori, Turkish young talent Neslihan Yigit and two INA seasoned campaigners Ardianti Firdasari and Maria Febe Kusumastuti. MD draw looks full of INA and MAS pairs, one of them may hope to crown the title on Sunday. However the frontrunners in this department are Chrisnanta/Triyachart, Goh VS/Tan WK, Angriawan/Saputra, Li JH/Liu YC and second seed Chinese Taipei winner Adistia/Gunawan. China new partnership Xia Huan/Zhong Qianxin and reigning WJC Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan will be WD pairs to watch beside top-seed Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth/Rizki Amelia Pradipta. Seven pairs get first round bye due to lack of participant in this discipline. The most competitive category mixed doubles will see some potential pairs to shine here, Widianto/Dili, Chrisnanta/Neo, Kido/Bernadeth, Chan PS/Goh LY and Chinese youngsters Zheng SW/Chen QC. Yes, truly appreciate CLELY for your great effort without fail, thanks a million.
Anyone out there having problems watching the live streams. They are extremely slow for me today, one frame every second. No choice but to follow the scores in TS. Hopefully some one will put the Lin GUI PU vs S Santoso match on YouTube. Just want to see whether it is Lin playing well or Santoso is playing badly.
Simon santoso gone past his prime. If a player who has beaten LCW in straight games for a title, the performance in NZ open is questionable. The scores indicates as if he wanted to leave as early as possible.
It works fine for me. The New Zealand Badminton Open link actually covers both Court 1 and Court 2. You can try viewing in Youtube directly.
You're welcome Ha...ha..., I'm still human He was so slow to balance the aggressive Lin GP, reigning world junior champion who has solid defence and good overhead smash.
The scoreline is unbelievable. I didn't get to see the match, offhand I think something must be troubling Santoso.
I watched game 2, Lin GP was so dominant, propelled series of his smashes to error-proned Santoso, a short match with few rallies.
Thanks, I managed to catch the replay. LGP with youthful exuberance has the speed in attack and defence to pose quite a bit of difficulties to Simon who appeared not at his best. Before the start of the tournament I was thinking who can be Simon's final opponent. Too bad, LGP and Huang Yuxiang will clash in R3.
Something worth mentioning today. Wow Chan Peng Soon / Goh Liu Ying just won today 21-14, 21-8. Wow I am truly amazed with the second set score 21-8. What a big marginal score. Wow imagine goh liu ying both knees are heavily strapped during tournament. Wow they really play up to expectation and perform well in every tournament. So happy they won today. I can imagine how painful it is for goh liu ying to play with both her knees heavily strapped. Congratulations.
Okay the event has ended today Okay the event has ended today. Managed to watch the last match of the day MS of Goh Soon Huat vs Hsieh Hsuan Yi. Wow the match was indeed exciting as both players are of the same strength. Both players refused to give up and both ended playing deuce but finally Goh Soon Huat won the match. There were lots of long rallies too and both players played very king for nearly 80 minutes. Wow what a match. Congratulations to Goh Soon Huat for winning the match.
Two upsets happened at first round, XD second seed Chrisnanta/Neo lost to CHN new combo Yu Xiaoyu/Xia Huan in straight-sets and 6th seed Simon Santoso stunned by Chinese junior Lin Guipu, other results were predictable.
