Venue : Haixia Olympic Sports Centre, Fuzhou-CHN Total prize-money : US$700,000 Fuzhou Time : http://www.worldtimezone.com/time/wt...ma=Find%20Time Order of Play (01.00pm) : http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...2490F8-9D1C-4B42-B715-915DAB1DC208&d=20141116 Final day is expected to present worth watching clashes for badminton lovers. Host China has secured 1 WD title and there's still chance to add more titles as they have representatives in all 5 finals except WS category. XD => Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei (CHN, seeding 1) v Yoo Yeon Seong/Eom Hye Won (KOR) Head-to-Head statistics : 1-0 On paper, top seed and multi champions ZZ is strong fave to retain their 2011 title but the impressive KOR pair may spoil home fans as they did in last eight to eliminate one of top contender Xu C/Ma J. WS => Saina Nehwal (IND, 6) v Akane Yamaguchi (JPN) H-2-H : 0-0 Saina will capitalize her experience against teenager Yamaguchi. The Japanese rising star with so much talent in her tender age has nothing to lose and she did it brilliantly so far to knock out two elite players like Wang Shixian and Bae Yeon Ju en route to final, this gonna be interesting final between two players. Disastrous result for CHN in this discipline as none of their WS advances to finale. The last time China failed to won WS title at homesoil was 2007 edition when Wong Mew Choo defeated Xie Xingfang in final after the Malaysian stunned two home players, Zhu Lin and Zhang Ning. MS => Kidambi Srikanth (IND) v Lin Dan (CHN) H-2-H : 0-2 Third time meeting of different generation as home hero is overwhelming favourite to bag his 6th title of CHN Open. Srikanth just enjoy the game and relax to face extraordinary player like LD. Lin Dan once again will become dependable player to save China pride in single department. WD => Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang (CHN, 5) v Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei (CHN, 2) H-2-H : 9-4 Both pairs has high potential to represent CHN in Dubai SS Finals, equal chance for them to add SS title. They're so familiar each other, tough to predict who will get top prize tomorrow. MD => Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong (KOR, 1) v Chai Biao/Hong Wei (CHN, 8) H-2-H : 1-0 It's heavy task for local pair to overcome the defending champion as they need best strategy how to break KOR solid defense.
Although this tournament is full of surprise, the best players in each categories are in the final apart from LXR.
I never imagine ever that there will be no Chinese WS in a final of a China Open badminton tournament - I am rooting for 17 year old AY to win, though kudos to SN for training hard and learning new strokes which she said she never envisage she can master.
Well...after so unpredictable matches and topsy turvies this tourney has made me clueless again I can just predict WD its CHN who'll win the title lolz.. MS the super Dan will surely overcome the young brave Indian..I hope and pray KS make it atleast a close encounter.. MD the CHN duo has surprised me yesterday they can do the same today also.. But I am rooting for my favz the formidable LYD/YYS Another 30 mins of anticipation.
I respect your perception but straightaway saying AY as more talented isn't correct.. She is surely more resilient and has better footwork..comparing on talent is certainly unfair..we are yet to see AY more...
On paper Saina is in-form and the favourite but with AY playing above herself here and freely, most of the pressure will be on Saina. Not easy to predict but when it comes to the crunch, I'd expect AY's nerves to hold better as she is by temperament cool, calm and collected as well as mature for her age - so if Saina doesn't have a clear lead, the game and/or the match is more likely to go AY's way.
Eom is KOR's best for XD atm as good as any of the CHN ladies. Btw, CHN's young Chen Qingchen is a rare gem, she'll be CHN's best XD ladies player soon, perhaps the best in the world one day.
