Eom is a thinking player who has brilliant control and vision. however, she doesn't have the type of authority and consistency that Ra Kyung Min shows. in time perhaps that will mature. and she also seem to have an excellent attitude. working 100% all the time.
Anyway, that incident recedes into the background with the KOR trailing so badly to lose the 2nd set, it won't alter the course of the match. Still I don't agree with what the umpire has done, he's setting a bad precedent unless the rule book has been changed to allow him to do that but not a good idea, unnecessarily strict.
I guess so, except that the smiley is not a tongue-in-cheek one but a wink which doesn't mean the same thing. It's OK, just a thought.
and another strange call. players are allowed to go below the net. and he doesn't seem to have touch the net.
the quality of mixed doubles play in this match is outstanding. the quality of the umpiring seems to be down the toilet.
The umpire has made two strange, unusual, even unprecedented, perhaps controversial decisions, one against KOR, the other against CHN. BWF should look into this, some umpires are too lenient, inconsistent while some, esp this one is too strict, even harsh.
I don't even think it is an issue of being harsh or not...seems like he is not very clear on the rules
That's what I'm implying, when he's not clear,he tends to get it wrong one way or the other which then appears to be either too lenient or too strict.
I guess I missed it.. Can anyone elaborately post which decision are we talking about.. Thanks in advance
