why smash to Ginting's position 5-12 at the third game. Why always smash this way in such situations ?
the match is done. the big problem is your jump-smash cannot bring a point to you but you always jump smash and lose the point right after that. why don't play rallies and use your high + footstep ?
All of 4 INA MDs advance to the next round. Great! All of them are in different quadrant. Hmm, maybe, just maybe, even though the chance is very, very slim, all of them may advance to SF and create all INA SF matches. But, that's too much to ask for.
I can't recall the full details, just thinking that CBA choosing to send her to Germany instead of having her treated in China (not good enough?) and that her comeback took more than a year as compared with Marin's (less than six months?) indicates the difference in severity between the two cases, I supposed. (I might be wrong, just a layman's view). And, by the way, where was Marin treated (surgical operation), in Spain itself or Germany (since she has some of the best ACL surgeons and therapy in the world)? (Sorry, lazy to research on LXR's and CM's related info). Another thing is, there is a common saying in CBA, if you are out of competition for more than three months due to injury (i.e.injury layoff), it'd take roughly double that amount of time to get back to your previous form, presuming you can in the normal course of things unless prevented by unforeseen circumstances. That's my understanding.
Around 8 months of recovery for CM. Recovery time on the same injury can greatly vary depending on the doctors following the athletes, the motivation and physical form of the athletes, etc. CM is very motivated to play at Tokyo 2020 while LXR was out right after the Olympics thus she might have approached her recovery differently and take more time. There is also the mental aspect behind the trauma of the actual injury. Everyone will react differently. And yes the CBA is not known to be very gentle with their player not performing or out for injury while the Spanish one doesn't have anyone except CM. Again different situation.
Eight months recovery period for Marin? Thanks for the info. It's early days yet, let's see how soon she can get back to her former prowess. True, LXR's injury occurred at ROG'16, so she could afford to take her time to come back. But once she made up her mind to aim for another Olympics, CBA is very supportive as I've reported before in her thread. Nevertheless, her progress despite an encouraging start in the first few small tournaments she played in after a 600-day hiatus, winning the Lingshui Masters, followed by US and the CAN Open, all three in 2018 ( however, at the 2018 Uber Cup semifinals, she lost miserably in the tiebreaking match with Busanan ) has since been fraught with difficulties with lackluster results at the mid to top tier events until now though CBA has been giving her ample opportunity to play as many tournaments as she is eligible for. To sum up, LXR's Tokyo 2020 quest is not looking up and it's already five months into the OG QF cycle. Right, Marin will almost certainly qualify for Tokyo OG as Spain has practically no-one else to compete with or deny her a ticket but not so LXR whose situation is threatening to be a lost cause, what with five of her fellow junior teammates ahead of her in the race to Tokyo as of today. That not for lack of motivation on her part as she had unmistakably affirmed her purpose of making a comeback is to target another Olympics, no less. Frankly, I'm doubtful LXR can succeed as both her tournament results so far has been disappointing, to say the least, and her age at 28 now is another serious concern for very few WS approaching 30, esp CHN WS, can perform at or near the top (Zhang Ning being a rare exception) which is what is required, no doubt, to vie for one of the two OG spots.

I feel the same way. I know she has some ambitions and she wishes to play at the next Olympics (for sure she is a former top athlete) but she is still playing and that's already awesome. She can still win some solid matches and may be a few more (under 300) tournaments but she doesn't seem like she has the will to improve anymore. And that's okay. A bit like LD I just enjoy watching her matches before she retires. Still some magic in her strokes!
