wow, candra/sigit,,,theyre now world no2, cant believe it, its so,,,fast, i mean, they first played again in last year's china open, which was late 2004, and since then they have earned 4 titles, and almost topple the ranking? unbelievable

Candra/Sigit have actually played together since April 2001, although they had a brief split during that time, they are one of the senior indonesian pairs..

Based on their recent performance, they should be regarded as one of the top title contenders in WC. Just wonder why all of a sudden they seem to rejuvenate.

Usually, the draw will be held within a week from the start of the tournament. Also, this is not the final ranking yet. There are a few minor tournaments before the WC and they may change one or two places, although not the top places.

I thought that the Singapore and Malaysian Opens were the last chances to get points for rankings? or do the 'A' grade tournaments count toward it aswell?

    Looking ahead..

By the look of things, it looks like(likely match up in the Finals in bold):

    MS:
barring any major injuries, winner between LinDan, BCL, LCW and Hafiz Hashim will play winner of KJonassen, Gade, Taufik and Chen Hong..
SF could be LinDan vs. LCW and Taufik vs. Chen Hong
The Final could be LinDan(avoiding Taufik before Final, but faces 3 tough opponents in QF and SF) vs. Taufik(avoiding BCL, LCW and LinDan before the Finals, only faces Gade most likely in the QF)..

    WS:
barring any major injuries, it'll be between ZN and XXF, enough said..

    WD:
barring any major injuries, it'll be between GL/HS vs. ZJW/YW, enough said..

    MD:
barring any major injuries Candra/Sigit will avoid JE/MLH before the Finals, but they will play Cai/Fu most likely in the SF. Barring any upsets, Luluk/Alven will most likely meet the defending WC, LP/JR, most likely in the QF. And as i mentioned before in another thread, at least 1 Danish pair will go to the Finals. But it could be the two veteran pairs duking it out one last time in the Finals..

    XD:
barring any major injuries, looks like NR/GE and Gao/Zhang are the favorites to be in the Finals. With NR/GE having an easier road. However, Gao/Zhang will meet the Thai pair in the QF. If the Indos can beat Nathan and Gail in the SF, they'll play for the title against either of the Chinese pairs. The Chinese pairs will have to play against a Thai pair and the Korean pair..

'A' and 'B' tournaments also provide points but too little to matter for the higher-ranked players.

    Chong Wei need good draw

Lets hope Lee Choong Wei is in different bracket to Taufik and Lin Dan. Once Chong Wei manage to get into semi then anything can happen.

but it could matter enough for players like LeeCW, Taufik, and BaoCL, since there are only 800 points difference between BaoCL (4th) and Taufik (6th), and the difference between 5th and 6th is only 200 odd points.
