true, taufik could move to second place if he wins 3 A graded tournaments (3x1800), but i guess he is confident of defeating most if not all the other players, so he isn't too bothered? and plus of course, there may not be that many A graded tournaments avaliable, or they maybe restrict against top rankinged players?
For Lee and Bao, it won't matter because their 10th-best tournaments already garner more than 1800 points (which is the amount you get when you win an 'A' event). It could matter for Taufik, because he only has 7 tournaments for this ranking. So, two 'A' wins will get him another 3600 points and he will catupult to 2nd place. But taking part in lesser tournaments can do much worse for him than being seeded 5-8. Anyway, whether you are ranked 1 or 8, it gets really tough in the QFinals onwards. Furthermore, for people like Taufik, runner-up place is as good as losing in the first round. It's the title that matters. It's all or nothing. So, it doesn't matter whether he meets Lin Dan in the quarters. He wants to beat everyone.
