Imagine LD not having XXF around during his training - his inspiration is gone! What's the point of training so hard since he's already won the Olympic title and he's got more than enough money to last his entire life with XXF? And the money will continue to pour in. LYB at once saw what was wrong with LD and promptly make an "imperial decree" that at all cost XXF must be retained to keep LD company just so that LD could retain his Olympic crown for LYB's own sake! Now if LD is able to become London Olympic 2012 champion, this will be an immense achievement which no other country could emulate for many, many years to come. LD and ZN!!! Glory to the motherland for producing two two-times Olympic champions and glory to LYB for being the only coach to make this possible! Now as an additional incentive to XXF, LYB promised that his beloved ZN from his own Liaoning province, will be kept only as a sparring partner for XXF and will not compete with her in the next Olympics. Will XXF retire?
So putting these 2 points together, we can conclude that XXF is deceiving the masses... she is in fact very happy , she just appear unhappy to deceive us...
You guys are funny! =) From what I've seen and heard from interviews with LYB, LD and XXF after the OG: 1. XXF will NOT split with LD. They would not get married right after the OG since LD is young to have more championships and more gold medels. 2. XXF is really sad about losing to ZN after a tight final game. XXF (26-7 yr old) said her body was in a very bad mode even compare with ZN (33 yr old). She always feels a stomachache during matchs caused by high presure and her body is not very strong ever compare to ZN. ZN has severe knees problems as XXF has severe waist problems. Xie expressed intention to retire after OG although I don't this would happen right away since LL and ZL is fragile now compare to ZN and XXF. 3. ZN will retire after OG and will be a coach for China team. Poor XXF, really tried her best in the OG and good luck to her.

If XXF retires... [and some have mentioned the possible retirement of Wang Chen, Yao Jie, Xu Huawen, and Pi Hongyan] then Tine, WMC, Maria, Saina, will all be the top world contenders! They can take on ZL and LL... It will be more evenly competitive...

Just what are the chances that LYB made sure that Zhang Ning won the Gold? Could it be possible that XXF was ordered to lose to Zhang Ning in order for her senior to defend her title?
It's possible, but I'm not sure it occurred in that case. XXF wants it so bad, I can tell it, and ZN won by rubber set right? If XXF was ordered to lose, logically she would have made lots of unforced errors during the match instead. And this is Olympic Games; the most prestigious championship of all... So yeah...
This may sound crazy but... Maybe she's planning to retire soon because she's expecting a... baby? And instead of continuing her career, she chooses to be a full-time mom?
WOW! According to lastest interview of LD and XXF by a HK media, XXF will stay and fight for London Olympics Gold Medal! IMHO, I don't think she would play for another 4 yrs. However, do you guys know who's LD's ex-girlfriend? Hind: She's also a famous Chinese Team member.
ZN won the Gold medal in OG08 will keep XXF in competitive level at least until 2012. LD/XXF failed to make it the The Golden Couple in Beijing. I am sure they will make it in 2010 AE and/or 2012 OG
I think it is hard to believe she can compete until 2012 for me. She is already struggling with an injury to her shoulder and back and has done for quite a number of years. It is unlikely IMO she could maintain her level for the next 4 years and she has to hope a player does not raise hers.
