GL/HS need to make use of their offensive. HS need to unleash her power more often.

i disagree. In Yang Yang's time, there was Morten Frost, Han Jian, Zhao Jian Hua etc etc... now, there is only players like Taufik, who is erratic, LCW, who is equally erratic, Peter Gade, going old. YY's time was definitely more competitive.
YY is more consistant than LD. To win 2 WC in the space of 3 years is more consistant that winning it in the space of 2 years.

The stands seem rather empty from the side. Is the turnout not as good as yesterday?

Well in Yang Yang's time there are just those few handful players who are good/great, but now in Lindan's time there are many players who can beat each other. Just look at those lowly/not so heard of players like Anup, Nguyen Tien Minh, Boonsak, Susilo, Park Sung Hwan etc...they can beat the top players too. This shows that the standard of badminton nowadays is really close among players. and for Lindan to dominate in an era like today is GREATNESS!!! Well done!!

i disagree. in Yang Yang' time, old rule is applied in WC, while we use new rule now. it means upsets are easier to be made. that's why we saw so many underdogs in quarter final. i agree in yang yang's time, there were Morten Frost, THan Jian, Zjh ... they are equally good. but now, no player is at LD's level (except on form TH). LD is superb and so LD's time was less competitve. if there were no LD in this world, there must be more competive and more agreat players now.

You can't really compared Yang Yang and Lin Dan... Different eras... It's just like comparing Tiger Woods and Jack Nicholas in Golf... Player's physical condition are different, equipments are different etc.. Players now days are probably better than before IMO....

LD was winning tornuments on the old scoring system anyway because he was always alot fitter then most. It's more competitive now because of the scoring system punishes you for unforced errors and mistakes. So, it's definitely harder to win 2 WC in a row now cause you have to be more consistent !!
