I broke two Blackens as well. The training in my elementary school was intense, 5 hours a day, 6 days a week. Therefore, it was demanding for rackets. I believed I broke at least one racket every other months or every three months.

Only two Sean? The way you smash, I'm surprised you didn't break more. :p

nah i dont think they use sledgehammers. i think their just so skilled with all the natural forces (chi) that instead of breaking the bird whening smashing, it breaks the racquet

My very first racquet was the Yonex Carbonex 10 Tour [2U-G4]. Although it had a purple-ish color, it packed a good punch. Too bad it broke before I got the higher-end racquets otherwise it'd be fun to compare it against some of the more expensive racquets that I've acquired over the years.

    First Yonex racket and Age

I just think, would the rackets and ages have relationship as:

Started with Yonex Wooden racket - may be aged from 35 to 40+
Started with Old Cab 7, 8, 9 - may be aged from 30 to 35
Started with Cab 20, 21 - may be aged from 25 to 30
Started with AR and ISO - may be aged from 20 to 25
Started with Ti and MP - may be aged from 15 to 20

The above estimation is just for fun, since some persons will start playing badminton very late and some will be very young. Some persons may be using his father or brother's equipment. Some persons may start from Carlton, Kawasaki, Dunlop......... and buy Yonex recently.

Nothing else, just for fun. If my assumption is matched with you, please let me know. :D

I took up the sport September 2004. My first Yonex racket would be the Armortec 800Def (4UG4), which I purchased sometime April or May 2005.

I was considered as the weaker boy in my team back then. BTW, for elementary school kids, we did not have that strong arms and wrists. I had a teammate was like 5'7" when we were at 6th grade. I guesses he was the only guy/boy (or one of two or three) who were able to do the real "smashes" (when you compared the power of 12 year-olds and adults.

BTW, the tension was low back to 80's. Therefore, it was less stressful for racquets and they were not that easy to break.

My first racket was a blacken. Remember throwing it like a javelin when i was a kid and it survived until now.
