Reminders to trainees; * Do not grip the handle of racket too tight * Shine the racket-face correctly * Do shorter length of strokes for Tumble and Spin * Do different directions of strokes for Tumble and Spin * Make contact with side of the cork * 'Maxima' on our side of the net * Get racket foot forward for longest reach * Watch the pointing of racket foot toes to prevent twisting ankle * 'Palm up' to raise other arm for better balance Sharon-O has made great improvement in our 'Net Challenge' games, she can now defeat Shoa Qi-C and Mahishi-W quite easily. Trainees still need to improve in the following; For an effective Dropshot, we need; * Flatter trajectories * Deception For the Bounce/Tumble/Spin, we need; * Shorter length of stroke * 'Maxima' on our side of the net For the Lift, we need: * Full follow-through of stroke * Shining the racket-face correctly Sharon-O has made great improvement with the Lift. Shoa Qi-C needs to take more time to do the Singles Service; which is essentially a Lift. Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 19-Sep-2010 (A Short Report) . Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 19-Sep-2010 (A Short Report) We worked on Chapter 7 Dab – (for Doubles). Trainees need to remember to hold their racket-heads at the 'GAP' height. For an effective Dab, we need to; * Hit flat trajectories through the 'GAP' * Hit with maximum speed/power through the 'GAP' * Give less and less time to opponent by moving forward * Hit with shorter length of stroke (to be ready for a Dab return) * Shine the racket-face correctly * etc, etc, ...... Mahishi-W and Sharon-O need to improve the wrist power required in this stroke. Shoa Qi-C's power is enough, but needs more concentration to hit through the 'GAP'. Chris, I have been missing for a few weeks now. Before my visit to Sydney for a visit for the weekend, I was asked to stay back the whole week and work at the Sydney branch and have been travelling up and down for a couple of weeks now.
