I must've mishit badly... the break was at the frame edge right at the top.

If you play plastics, ZM67 is good; but if you play feathers, you should definitely try ZM65 or even ZM62.

I've often thought about getting a stringing machine, but the cost of a good one, the time needed to learn to string well, and the time needed to string, all these considerations have steered me away... :p

At the moment, stringing labour charge is quite competitively low in Vancouver... around $11. So including my string from my own reel of ZM62 or ZM65, my cost is only about $15-16 per job.

That's ridiculously low! In Toronto, I used to get charged $28 for BG65, with $15 or 20 for labour. I've just about paid off for my $1000 machine after 9 months of stringing for people. But the best part is when I string for myself and the satisfaction of it, and timing myself to see how fast I'm going, and finding out which strings are fastest. Doesn't this interest you? :p So far BG80 is the fastest, followed by NBG98/95. BG80 is truly stiff, not only in its stringbed, but the string itself can sometimes go through a shared hole without a string mover (I never use awls), it's like an eel when I'm doing the crosses.

I'll give ZM62 another shot once I get some feathers, but so far ZM67 was an awesome experience but only at higher tensions it seems.

Btw I'm visiting Vancouver in a couple months near UBC. Any nice views, attractions, or restaurants I should visit? I know the Guus in Vancouver are better than Toronto, anything else similar? lol

Just the other day when i finally received my 4u tk 9000 with zm62 at 25 lbs and balls my string broke. I hit it near the frame on my left side of the racket. That is the one thing I hate about the zm62. i just got it restrung and praying I don't do a miss hit.

23 lbs and below, it can handle mishits without imploding. But any higher, it's a timebomb waiting to explode at the slightest mishit... usually at the most inopportune time like at game point.

I still don't know how some people like kwun can use zm62 @30 lbs!

Some people like Kwun have their own stringing machines and reels :p

I've been using zm62 for a while now, and it was so irritating when it kept breaking on plastics (not the best idea, I know) so I decided to dedicate one racket to zm62 and feathers. #Worth

    i have a video of a 28/30 here: :D too bad i didn't ping it.

being a 50/50 stringjob, it has really nice playability, and i remember it lasted fairly long as well.

Truly, one time I had it at 25 lbs, and I swear it broke when I sneezed at it. :(

Platinum is slippery, bad for control.
Red is slightly stiffer, better feel.
White is more textured, better control.

    Imho, of course. :)

Hey guys. I have two friends who can't seem to break strings (never broken strings in 4+ years of play). Should I have them try to zm62 challenge? (see if they can break zm62 at their current tensions?) :D I am willing to string it up for them! :)

Ballsy, I just broke my string again. God I really hate these yellow strings. I think i need to go down one tension at 24 and I am going back to the red one which lasted me quite some time when i was using my revelation.

Would like to share some little review of zymax 65. My go to string nowadays, repulsion is quite good but still bg66ultimax is better, very nice hitting sound, the stiffness of zm65 i would say is stiff, slightly softer than vs850 and just works fine for me, tension holding is much better than both bg66 and bg66 ultimax and surprisingly even better than bg80. It does play like 0.68mm string more than 0.65mm imho, its just doesnt feel like very thin repulsion at all.

Then you played a different Zm65 than me, mine wasnt even close to the Bg80 in terms of holding tension... :/

I was thinking the same, it certainly doesn't play like a thicker string either.

Thanks! Will check it out when I get there.

Are the Zymax 'white' strings still a beige/off-white/ivory colour? Or is it more like Yonex/LiNing white now?

When my store ran out of white ZM62 on the reel, I was accidentally given a pack of white ZM62 from Ashaway Canada to store to string. It looked whiter, almost pure white. Whereas my usual ZM62 on the reel was ivory white.

The pure white felt completely different. Soft numb, less crispy... despite being strung at my usual tension. Had to cut it after a few games.
