MAS got many chances this year.

MAS will get 2 points between LCW and KKK/TBH. The other point will come from our secret weapon, MR. Yoyo, who is known to perform at big stages, such as the All England.

on the big staged such as 7 years ago.
And fall apart against injured players like 2 years ago.

And somehow leading like 20-14 against LcW but still manages to somehow lose.

actually its easier to predict the winner but impossible for the runner up now as there will be new draw after the first round due to KOR's fisaco (or creative selections) last t'ment.

What a joke. You guys should start believing in 'chance to win'. Sure, 0 points is a possiblility between MS and MD but sure, 2 points are possible too. So far the mentality has been bad by only thinking of 'chance to lose', I must admit that I am one of them. I do believe that Malaysia has its chances, but yet I still think China will walk away with the Thomas Cup again. ;)

WCH 30-70 Chen Jin. There is a chance there too ;) Remember a semi-final last year as revenge for WC loss to CJ?

Fuzzy vs CY/FHF. I don't know what to say about this. I can only say there is a yoyo chance below 35-65 I still remember the WC semi-final last year where it was 21-23 in the rubber game  But if they're in poor form, I would say fraction-99%

Yoyo Hafiz Hashim vs Bao Chunlai. This is not so much of a yoyo chance compared to Fuzzy, but I would think that he has the potential to grab a third point from Bao CL. Both can buckle under pressure and we shall see who buckles first. 35-65.

Of course, it is provided that the first two win. There is a small chance, but there is hope. Hence, people saying China has 90% chance to win the TC. Small chance that they might not win, but it is there.

Alright, I know I am pretty weird defending Malaysia's chances despite not being optimistic for their success. I just feel a little irritated when people mention that China will be the winners of TC 2010 already, other countries have no chance, it is impossible, blah blah. ;) Sorry, guys.

Stop thinking about the odds. You have to remember China has been using the same top players LD, BCL, Chen Jin, in MS and CY/FHF (& other MD players) in MD for many years now in the Thomas Cup. These players might not be motivated to play so well this time around. An upset is on the cards if you ask me ;).

I'm very upbeat this year about other teams such as Indonesia, Denmark and Malaysia's chances to win the Thomas cup.

China's coaches will have a psychological problem motivating their top stars ... :D

UC10 is done deal for CHN, too balanced a team.
TC guarantee win for CHN? Heck, no but CHN has better chances than others. Other countries may have a chance if the 'IFs' works out (i.e. if LCW-TBH/KKK get 2 pts for MAS, INA win in 2 MDs & 1 MS, etc. etc). IMO, DEN has the better chance with 2 strong MDs, PG and JOJ in MS to beat CHN.
Now if BCers are really placing bets, I mean big $$$ bets, not cheap talk with nothing to lose but just hot air, I really like to see whether you all bet with your heart or brain, and not bet your hard earn $$$ on CHN to win;)

If I were LYB I would switch Cai Yun with Xu Cen as MD1 and Fu HF/Guo ZD or FHF/ZN as MD2.....especially against Denmark and Msia :)

Experimenting now? DEN 2MDs are recent AE10 finalist, the 2 pts from MDs to DEN would look very good indeed. Facing MAS at home, TBH/KKK are always like strong harimau, very chance of grabbing 1 pt, now if Dato score another pt, all of sudden it is 2-2, eeek! IMO, CHN better of hoping FHF/CY score 1-pt and put them in 2nd MD, sacrifice the other MD to DEN or call Jesus for help for a miracle to happen:D

In 2008, the odds were in favor of LD and KKK & TBH in their group tie..Yet, CHN ended up winning 3-2..
In 2010, the odds are in favor of LCW and KKK & TBH? will we see a reversal of role and fortune this time around?..

lets have a look of DEN's MD shall we?

for the last 12 months they have won ONE t'ment between the 2 pairs of them and a total of THREE for the 40 SS t'ments since 2007. granted they have a good week at AE this year but that's all, they never played well against the other top pairs.

Here are whom they lost to for the last 12 months:

    2009 SO lost to MK/HS(INA) & HLC/YLY(Taiwan)
    2009 JO lost to AC/HG(INA) & HB/TG(USA)
2009 DO lost twice to KKK/TBH(MAS)
    2009 FO lost to MA/BS(INA) & KKK/TBH(MAS)
    2009 HKO lost to LYD/JJS(KOR)
    2009 CO lost to LYD/JJS(KOR)
    2010 KO lost to CB/ZN(CHN) & CY/FYF(CHN)
2010 AE winner & runner up
    2010 SWO lost to KKK/TBH(MAS) & KSH/YYS(KOR)

they will be very lucky if they can score 1 point between them against any top team.
