Women's double Group A is ridiculously dramatic :eek::eek:

All four pairs have won and lost 1 game.

A shame we don't have any of these matches on TV tomorrow :/

Many super exciting matches nonetheless :)

Probably a stiff neck. Happens to me very often when I play. Badminton requires so much contortion

If only SN pushed herself a lil more and made this "lucky cut" PVS vs SN and also against HBJ would've been fine matches

the first four matches on TV court are all doubles. That's so rare.

MS is the most interesting sector in Dubai for now.

Chen not really suitable for XD anymore, too many errors produced by her.

After Chen Qingchen and Zheng Siwei split , they haven't been training together as a pair , not even in the lead-up to Dubai SSF as they were playing the CBSL separately for different teams. Also Chen Qingchen is doing double duty here, not good for her, overtaxing her fitness/stamina which is the main reason for Zhang Jun stopping her from competing in two disciplines in the first place.

So its LiLiu vs KevGid again? Meet for 3 tournaments straight and having their hopes extinguished again (If KamuraSonoda won straight vs Mads)

True. I have always felt she doesn’t have the skill set to be in the top 8! I wonder what her coach would discuss as ‘game strategies’ with her. “Just keep the shuttle in play and let’s see how it goes”

The only way TTY progresses to next round is with a win and CYF loss. Anything else, should be Ratchanok 1st an CYF 2nd due to game differentials.

At BEST, TTY would end at 4-3 (differential of 1). Ratchanok would be 4-2 at WORSE, and CYF at 5-2 at BEST. Making it CYF>RI>TTY.

If RI splits, she'd be at 5-2, and CYF would be at 5-3. Then it'd be RI>CYF>TTY.

A Head to Head tiebreaker only comes into effect when TWO teams are still tied after # of games differential. Since it's clear cut 3>2>1 in both scenarios where CYF doesn't lose, then RI and CYF makes it to next round, and 1st deciding on if they split or not.

I don't really agree with this as she's won against TTY during their past 2 encounters. On the other hand, I believe Yamaguchi and Pusarla have beaten her the last times they played. She would be more wary of that. She's actually better off topping the group.

My prediction is TTY win against SJH.

RI wouldn't let CYF defeat her, no matter what the situation is and doing triple win would add more self confidence.

Agreed. I think she would definitely be out to avenge that WC QF loss. She is in better shape right now.
