Seems like you should take your own advice, in the first game the Chinese pair didn't score a single point that you could put down to Fernaldi's injury. Not a single time did he play a weak smash that got countered or something alike - it was all about Zhang winning the attack and dominating the front-/mid-court (in those rallies).

Kevin/Gideon had already secured their slot in Dubai SSF. It's better to focus on last SSP and the SS Finals.

Compared to what? Playing the French Open? Indeed, with Fernaldi's shoulder issues. Such a thing can go from small irritation to a real problem if you ignore it long enough.

that's true though, zhang nan was the real factor why they won the match...he neutralize kevin a lot in that match...also not helping for the indonesians that liu cheng also playing a good game.

kevin is an amazing player to watch and so talented, but still has a long way to go to reach zhang nan level...remind me of cqc when she met natsir, no matter how good cqc is right now, natsir still got the better of her.

I noticed they targeted Liu Cheng a lot. However, Liu Cheng's counter attack was decent that ZN can dominate the front.

Both Gideon & Kevin along with Gregoria attended the anniversary of the Youth Pledge Day at Bogor Presidential Palace on October 28, 2017.

Before the ceremonial session started, they played badminton with Mr. President, Joko Widodo.

Dont need to overanalyse 2 point defeat..If you cant get through it, you will end up being frustrated like Li/Liu.

Even LiuZhang lost to IvanovSozonov and Lee/Lee by 2 points. Do you bother to analyse how them losing by 2 points?

Fu Haifeng actually used weight training and during his days will always smash on everything that comes to him (even more brutish than Gideon). Yet he's considered one of the best MD player ever. Another good example is Ko Sung Hyun. I think even they use a lot of brute strength and power in their play, they still have great technique. IMO, Gideon style is less powerful compared to Fu Haifeng or Ko SUng Hyun.

Should be, unless Zhang/Liu win the SSF or even 1 more, in which case they won the bigger ones and could reasonably be chosen as well

Well even less chance for Sukamuljo in that case...and yeah, Zhang winning the WC and 2-3 SS/PSS titles would certainly make him a viable candidate over Srikanth. Can go either way, depending on how they end the year. Axelsen wins 2 more titles and he's in the run as well :D

If so they might surpass Natsir/Tontowi as top earner this year in Indonesia. I heard Djarum and Jaya Raya wrote a huge check for Minions achievement, add that with their Yonex contract, Minister of Sport bonus, Superseries prize money and many other stream of income (Kevin even model for photo commercials like LD). Minions are laughing their way to the bank. No wonder Gideon want to tie the knot next year.

imo POTY is not important. Win it or Lose.

They play the most exciting, expansive, artistic brand of MD ever be in history without focus on power. Its really great to watch.

Kevin the 'flash' Sukamuljo is like tapping into the speed force just like the movie Justice League. Even inducing Mogensen fear at the net.

They are good but they need opponents to make this discipline more interesting. Li/Liu were blown away in the SF.

It's the same during Ahsan/Setiawan's reign.
